Official, strict-reading of ToS is that "I use a parser" is enough to be disciplined.

Reality, though, is that no one has ever been disciplined for "I use a parser" and SE has unofficially stated that you must be using the parser as harassment in order for them to go through with some sort of disciplinary action.

This "fear" already exists in game right now.
Someone has reverse engineered the battle-numbers that come streaming across and they are quite capable of making that into a gauge and visible to everyone right now.
It's even been done (that's how PC parsers work).

And further more who ever is doing the most damage among-st the group of dps is doing the best especially if there class is bad compared to others. You wouldn't find it terrible for a RDM to get outdpsd by a MCH?

You wouldn't question the value of the RDM group and maybe the possibility you would be better of with out the RDM who's geting out dps'd by a MCH?

The only thing dps meter do is hold people accountable, everyone's argument against meters is that if there are bad players they maybe kicked for bad performance and that some how wrong i will never get this stance.

One last thing too for the guys who complain about the elitist jerk who will leave because of dps meters or bad performance, you didn't want him in your group anyways him leaving should herald a praise from you as far as im concerned every time i hear "i hate elitist" then followed be "he left me group and that made me mad" makes no sense at all.

    No thank you.
And I agree with both of you, why invite more poison into the game?

    Poison?
In this game? This is one of the most casual lets not follow raid mechanics or use my support skills at all as a dps i've ever seen. I rarely see DPS classes use there support skills like manasong, apoth, mantra, shadewalker, battle litany etc.

No one complains about this. Atleast a dps meter would insure that a dps classes atleast dps because they sure as hell aren't using there other utility skills.

This topic can get you banned for having a negative impact on the community, justified by your standards or not. I'm saying this as a proparser supporter.

Enough with this safe space bullshit. It isnt fair that I can't see my own DPS on PS4. There's a level of expectation when it comes to savage level raiding. Atleast for that content, there should be a meter.

I fully support a personal DPS meter. I'm wanting to swap from WHM to RDM as my main to take into Omega Savage, but I wouldn't even have a clue if I'm playing well or not. At least as a healer I can take a step back and ask "is anyone dying? Am I throwing rocks at the boss? Cool." Sure I can have a rough feel for it, but when my job is to deal as much damage as possible I'd like to know I'm doing that.

That sounds interesting. Kind of like filling up a fever gauage in rhythm games, in effect turning each fight into a mini-game. A feedback system that acts as positive reinforcement for people to improve. "How do I fill my fever guage? What rotation fills it faster?"

Then over the course of the dungeon, maintaining fever status could grant some benefit, like extra tomestones each boss, or extra gil, chance to gain an extra personal coffer after each boss that may contain stuff like relevant crafting materials and minions etc.

A visual feedback that shows players they have room to improve is a very effective incentive for improvement.
