Stop rewarding tanks/healers! We all put in the same effort.

I didn't need a bonus to tank. Now I just get a thing extra to do my norm.

It's incentive to get people to do something people don't want to do because it's needed.

I don't think I've exchanged any cracked clusters yet. I should do that.

Honestly, I wish I understood the appeal of DPS classes. I can't even stand being OT in a thing that doesn't need an OT.

Maybe they should give people in AiN a little bonus to level other jobs? Like a food with 10% bonus exp and scaling stats? I dunno.

If they wanted to reward Tanks and Healers we would have a new job class to play. If anything it's to give incentive for Tanks and Healers to come out of the woodwork.

I like that they give tanks incentive to farm leveling roulette. It certainly motivated me doing it more than once per day.

DPS get faster queues, tanks/healers get a reason to queue. It's a win-win situation.

The reward the DD are getting is a shorter queue.

We all know why less people play healers/tanks.

- More responsibility.

- Less relaxing

-Mistakes have direct consequences.

- Harder to master.

-Sometimes it feels like babysitting.

But most of all the main story quests are annoying to do as healer, all these pesky 'kill 8 of those' take ages.
As Conjurer/white mage you press 1 maybe 2 buttons at best, that is it.
In the past I had a few more dots and what not, now it is painfully boring.
Glad they made Samurai available at 50 so you can at least swap for the main quest.

If I were new to an MMO and I started a conjurer I probably would have trashed pre level 30 because it's insufferable boring.
Just because I enjoy healing doesn't mean killing anything should be this dull.

Simply put people that tank and healer in this game are a dedicated bunch.
Since a large part of leveling one isn't fun people find them less appealing.
If your damage is 50% less than it should be, we probably still kill the boss.
Chances are you wouldn't even know if it were so low because this game provides you with no tools to see it.

If my healing is 50% lower you're dead, and I'll get to hear it.


Anyway giving people extra rewards is a good way of motivating them.

If anything, DPS deserve MORE. We're the ones that have to sit through outrageously long queue times and we put in the exact same amount of time and effort (if not more) than any other role in the duty.

The rewards are in place in an attemot to alleviate the issue with your queue times, rewarding DPS roles with bonuses would result in absolutely nothing

Just make it that tanking and healing are just as fun as DPSing and the whole thing will balance out eventually.

Tanking is fun though. What other Job allows you to save people (clemency cover), cheat mechanics off gcd (hallowed ground tempered will), all while holding the bosses attention. Also now we can build up our own recources and use them at will.

I'm so confused with this thread. OP specifically mentions bonus items from roulettes- clusters, gil, mounts, seals and so on. People hijack the thread and talk about leveling up and long queue times.

[One of the] Best ways to level up: Palace of the Dead and Frontlines (not so much the latter). Universally short queue, regardless of role.

I really have to ask what is your actual agenda then? To level up quickly? Okay- PotD or Frontlines. Easy rewards and fast roulette pop? Pick up a tank.

I get the complaint from OP- SE rewards the minority (tanks and heals) for the exact same work DPS has to do. However, OP is missing the point. It's for roulettes, not end game content. It's a small thank you for doing your part for the community- helping others get through faster for being the bigger person and filling in for a shortage.
