Having completed SB before doing RDM quests the job NPC actually directly references you beating Zenos.
I actually was kind of hoping the WoL would die in Othard, for an FF6 reference if nothing else. The Phantom Train left from the forest outside Doma Castle, and could have been an interesting trial.
Zenos was a boring anime villain to me. Everything he did was mostly from some fighting anime and he even had the confused thought he was your friend. I rather take an Eggman type villain than another Zenos anyday. Atleast Eggman is funny.
Boring anime villain? Lol if anything he was the Joker.
Also that's pretty neat about the RDM questline referencing your victory over Zenos.
confused thought?
He was right about that friendship part.
It's confused cause they aren't friends. In what way is he friendly? Did he buy you drinks? Is he protecting you from your pissed off GF? Did he order you lunch and housesit? NO! He flat out tried to kill you every chance he got. Just cause he thinks you're his "rival" doesn't make him your friend. Standard badguy anime thing 24.
That's the beauty of an RPG; If he says he was my friend then by the Twelve he was my friend. Just because he doesn't meet your definition of friend doesn't mean he doesn't meet my twisted definition.
"People have the right to choose their own path to destruction."
? But the story didn't change for me and you tho. We both had our characters fight the same anime badguy who we couldn't beat because of plot until plot said it was ok to kill him. And we both had to read the same lines he spilled when we got to him at level 70. Maybe I'm just harder on my badguys as he did nothing for me but prove FFXIV villains are manga villains. :c
Haha, you and I are two completely different people with two completely different outlooks; It's only natural we'd see the same thing two different ways.
While my character may have fought him because it was the right thing to do it doesn't mean she wanted him dead. Maybe she agreed with him to a point? Maybe she's tired of all this WoL stuff? Like I said, that's the beauty of an RPG, it's a role playing game, I can interpret however I want to a certain extent. In the end my characters actions may be dictated by the story written but I'm free to think and feel however I want. ^^
And maybe he was a bit cliche but I happen to like that archetype, so he was A-OK in my book.
"People have the right to choose their own path to destruction."
hah. I see your point. I'm being too disconnected and only looked at it from a writer's point of view. It's hard not too since I draw comic books, so it's hard for me to just escape into another world. So in parts like these I don't look at my character as a different being.. I looked at it from only a gameplay view.
