Zenos Appreciation Thread [Massive Spoilers]

What the hell? Why?

I find her personality annoying. She was in the "who am I stage" for too long. Emotional people like that annoy me to no end. Also for Zenos, he pushed us to our limits which is what we needed. I think everyone needs a person like that in their lives who will push them to their ultimate potential. You may not like the methods or the person, but the results speak for themselves.

Yes I do and that's Zenos. Heck, even Conrad had a better VA. Her voice was forced. You're biased af and just won't accept how fake it sounds when she says "Uhh... *insert question here*". Have your own opinion if you want but don't shove it down my throat and tell me I don't know what I'm talking about. The new Lyse couldn't sound a fraction of the old Yda we all liked from before even if her life depended on it, not because she isn't Yda, but because the voice acting is utter shite.

Her fights with Fordola especially are well done and she doesn't sound forced one bit there at all. I don't understand your reasoning for why she's a bad character at all. You want to talk about crappy VA's? Look at Fordola before you call Lyse crap. Lyse's character is real. She understands who she wants to be in the end and her duty is to lead Ala Mhigo now. She's a leader and not a scion. Her voice is powerful and you're incredibly misjudging her character because you don't understand her. What's next, are you going to say Allisae is shite?

Allisae is an awesome character. She has so much spunk that I like it. She has no problem knowing who she is and not taking crap from people. Also, constantly making fun of her brother is funny.

Zenos is one of the few characters that made me feel inspired to get better as a character, not many characters in ffxiv could pull that emotional chord like he can. The only other character in this game that I'd go on a legitimate rampage for is Tataru Taru. If someone did anything to her, the storyline better bring out the worse in my characters just like how Zenos brought the best out of them.

Seeing him fall to the ground after losing to us and spitting up blood did something to me. I wanted that one on one battle with no gimmicks attached (And no party of adventurers helping me) where I would use my Drk's abilities to the limit to stay alive and to best that beautiful bastard. Dammit If I had to activate "Living Dead" just to stubbornly live long enough to defeat him, I would. The feels man.

Even from the imperial PoV he did a really poor job. I have no respect to people who fail their job for perosnal fantasy. He should kill WoL in Yanxia.

I am no Zenos fan (and I find it funny that SE wanted to create a villian that nobody would like because they were surprised that people liked Gaius and yet we have this thread :'D) but I agree with Ferrasper. I disliked Lyse. Not for her voice but for her behavior. Without us or other characters stopping her she would have made things worse from the very beginning and SE just pushed her in the front all the time. (Why is she the one thats standing in the front at the end even though it was the Wol that killed the bad one thus the one that made it even possible to win?) She never really changed imo and she also never understood why people, after going through horrible times and losing lots of loved ones, do not want to fight anymore..yet she herself only started fighting because Papalymo died..and then they make her the leader and the first thing she does it wanting to look at the enemy base all alone..I liked Yda, maybe because of the dynamics with Papalymo, but Lyse just annoys me..I really hope that in the next expansion we do not have one main NPCs but a lot of varying NPCs that are all important in a way but not THAT important even though she did nothing to deserve the praise.

So Lyse rant over.

I do like Zenos way more than her. At least he accomplished what he wanted to do and he provided a powerful enemy for the WoL. (I still find it strange how we are suddenly able to beat him x) especially in his other form..He only compliments us thus I cant believe that we had other adventurers with us against him..) I wish they did more to him and made him the last true enemy of the whole expansion and not kill him off that fast. And I wished that after the first fight he would have become obsessed with us (like that other Garlear) because he knew that we could be that one foe that he needs. Yet that point only came at the last part so it feels a bit off.

I really liked her yelling at Fordola if nothing else, especially the throwback to Meffrid at Castrum Abania.

It'd be cool if some of the 60-70 job quest lines specifically mentioned us training to fight/asking for advice to defeat Zenos. RDM especially felt like it should have had a bit deeper of a stake in the events of 4.x.
