Because I'm in a leveling queue as DPS. That's why I'm AFK for more than 30 minutes. And yes, I've been kicked because the queue took so long. I guess I could have been doing something else in-game while waiting on a ridiculously long queue, but I thought my time better spent cleaning around the house and waiting for the PS4 controller to alert me to a queue pop. Guess I was wrong.

Meanwhile, instead of addressing directly the problem of how people bypass the AFK kick, they decide to go this route. It doesn't even sound like they're going to stagger the worlds either. I don't think it's going to be a big surprise what will happen when everyone kicked off on an entire data center hits the login queues at the same time 10 minutes later.

    I have a couple questions.

What happens if you log in just before the simultaneous logout? Sucks to be you.

What will happen with DPS queues? This might fatten up tank mercs wallets.

But really, it's thanks to these circumventers that people who wanted to transfer couldn't even do that if they couldn't even access their rooms/retainers.

I am very concerned on whether this will affect my server, there is usually a queue in getting in, and as Olayer interested in tank and dps, this will be another impediment to play dps with the queues as they are.

It also seems SE shot themselves in the foot, by basically admitting that moving servers isn't going to prevent this inconvienience from occurring, so what reason do players have to move now? Severing ties with long time friends is bad enough, but when you are still going to be screwed with long queues getting back in and intentional downtime because the congested server is still in your data center?? That is just ridiculous, and shows a lack of foresight that they should have expected with all of their advertising.

The playerbase is just as much to blame here.

While not ideal for established communities, SE have decided that transfers are the only feasible solution since it appears that for whatever reason they can't do anything to address server capacity.

They've offered their solution and it's hardly their fault if people are being stubborn about it as a result.
No they aren't. This entire issue never occurs if SE wasn't greedy and happily collected $20 with every transfer to servers they supposedly closed. Most people aren't going to even know about server populations beyond "Balmung has a large roleplay community." You don't blame the playerbase for preferring larger servers when they could still transfer onto them, albeit for a price.

SE is at fault for not locking the server at 3.0 but they were happy to collect their transfer $$.

Now that the server is locked the RP community will split it has already started on Mateus and will continue as long as they don't open up the server again

What are you expecting to happen? Because I see this as beneficial more than anything. An hour warning is still enough to queue and finish a dungeon for most, with the added bonus of kicking players to make room for more people that might queue up.

    Bourne makes a point here.
Although people should not rush to overpopulated server to whine after, SE should not have open the gates to those willing to pay. A closed server need to be closed

Please explain this logic. If players were actually spread out, such that the AFK exploiters weren't such a huge problem (by being spread across all servers, rather than severely impacting a handful), then we might've avoided this situation.

I'm in a roleplay community on Excalibur, I still think this might affect my datacenter, despite Balmung not being there, as Excalibur is a legacy server, and home to a lot of long time players.

We have party finder, don't we? There needs to be a better way to facilitate roleplayers other than shunting them, accounts and all, into one or two servers.
