Tanks using ilv270 STR acessories

Thanks for the measured response. Ill have to see how things go at 70, but my assumption is that it should be fine, as far as threat is concerned.

Out of curiosity do you use STR accessories still or no? I'm currently geared at 62 in full VIT and haven't seen a problem.

Not at the moment... mostly because I never had any to begin with since I never leveled monk or dragoon. I used them back in 3.0 and 3.1 (I think, memory is still a bit hazy, the hybrid formula wasn't until 3.2 right?). At the moment, I spent most of my poetics on ironworks gear for my samurai so I didn't really have any to spare. I will probably start farming up a set soon though.

As for how much I will use them... perhaps in dungeons where I am confident in my ability, though likely after gauging the healer. I may just end up aiming for a certain amount of HP like 40k as a starting point and put on more str accessories if I think they can handle it.

For things like raids and EX Primals, I will likely use my vit accessories during progression as single target enmity isn't an issue at the moment, especially with Shirk. The reason being, in progression, you want as many safety nets as possible. On clear, I may try easing in more Str accessories if I think the healers can handle it, but I would have to coordinate with the healers first and foremost. On farm is when I would consider going full Str.

I'll also probably meld vit onto the Strength accessories... can you meld Tier VI materia onto i270 gear? I think I should start buying Vit VI Materia now before their prices go up... excuse me for a moment.
