I see a lot of people saying that tanks are meant to be tanks and that's the way it is.
When you nerf down things which mechanically wise drawn a large chunk of players towards the role, and i'm not talking only about damage, i'm talking about: fillers in rotations, ability to both generate enmity and build up gauge for your finishers at the same time, the presence of a couple strong skills you are satisfied in unlashing.
In 70 dungeons and ex trials, tank rotations are braindead.
Now people are starting to complain about duty finder queues, at the same time saying "tanks are gonna tank". This is cause-effect, and guess what? As soon as the majority of tanks will hit 70, there will be even less tanks doing the rest of the activities. Underestimating the tank problem will cause troubles in this game. Tanks need to be happy playing tanks, or the game will become unplayable, unless SE decides to balance every not high-end content in order to be done even without tanks.
yeah tanking feels like really bad, i got all my classes up always but tanking is what i do an honestly i got to stay in defiance an overpower
80% of the dungeon an since we got that penalty on stance dance it makes it even harder to go dps an have some fun.
is really important to keep tank damage since thats part of the fun of being a tank, not spamming agro combo the full run, i feel they forcing me to stay in tank stance all the time, penalty are all over the place.
dont even feel like running dungeons anymore just plain boring for me as tank. not "hard" boring

I was, at first, against the change to vit = attack power back in Heavensward. It meant less choices in gear when tanks had the best options out of any for the time being. We could use str accessories to push the damage or vit to keep it safe. A nice balancing act and doing savage endgame in all str was a great feeling.
However, when it happened they kept str as well as vit on a 1:1 ratio, so we still used some str accessories here and there for the BiS builds. It wasn't terrible, and having your power scale up with your HP gave you the feeling of growth as both a character and a tank role. Much like when a Dragoon gets a shiny new earring and he is ultimately more powerful, as a tank I...no longer have these feelings. Quests have been giving me accessories as I levelled up. But in the end I've kept my 270 str gear for many slots. Having more HP is nice, but when it comes at the cost of being able to actually smash enemies skulls in, then we have a problem. While tanks are defensive by nature, they still want that feeling of power. Healers get it. Damage dealers get it. Why no longer tanks?
Sad times!

some of you are so clueless. Yea its not hard holding aggro NOW if you sit in tank stance and contribute no dps but a raid tier or 2 from now the disparity is going to be huge because dps right side is going to scale and tanks isnt. You people are so dense and the reason this games balance is trash. -314war/pld all content on farm so i know what im talking about more than the average "herp derp tanks arent dps" turds on these forums who cant clear savage without echo

I tested it with friend and at level 60 in STR gear I do as much as a level 70 ilvl 300. Whenever with friends or solo I use STR gear and it noticeably easier to maintain aggro(and kill stuff solo). I understand nerfing tanks(I guess) but couldn't they have still made Vit part of damage, even if it's only a tiiiny bit like 20% Vit 80% Str. Accessories don't even feel worth getting anymore.

Strength tanking will be back because that extra HP was never needed for anything, at least in 3.x. Extra HP = wasted, but extra damage is never wasted.

When every tank that I know of is still wearing all slaying accessories on right side with full direct hit melds because that's the only way to play, and only playing paladin, something is terribly wrong. What happened to Quality Analysis?

thx ive been raiding for over 5 years in here + other mmos ^^some of you are so clueless. theres a reason why we have a trinity system wich means:
tanks tank in tank stance : does less dmg
dps = obviously doing dps :P
healers = heal with focus on healing and some dps.
everyone is capable to solo stuff.

Trinity didn't worked well starting from A3S. If you wanted any chance to beat it in any reasonable time, you were required to have full strength tanks in attack stance. Otherwise you simply failed dps checks even if you performed all mechanics perfectly.thx ive been raiding for over 5 years in here + other mmos ^^

'Pure healing' and 'pure tanking' are against this games' raid concepts.
