    PLD main here with a tad of Warrior and DRK and for me it's clear. Ever since they changed it to STR, playing the tanks makes less fun.

    It's no secret that there is a shortage of tanks, and taking away damage is the wrong way to tackle it, and nerfing the tanks damage when a huge part of the fun of an MMORPG is doing damage, is counter-productive. You need tanks to especailly balance out all those people playing RDM and SAM now.

    Tank DMG should not outclass DPS damage, I think we are all clear on that, but at the same time tanks should have impact on the overall dps and contribute other than being a sentinent striking dummy for the boss and having the occasional swap every now and then.

    If SE doesn't change it and fix the enmity generation in 4 man instances (since esp WAR struggle a lot without Flash) and go back to Vit, then I can see myself changing to Red Mage and stop tanking and I am pretty sure I am not the only one.

    And about the penalty for death, tbh I'd gladly have hp nerfed after death and have a VIT scaling damage.

    They could just add a LITTLE str to tank accessories. Like 25. So with G6 materia that'd be 50.

    Unless that amount increases as ilvl increases, it wouldn't help in the long run. The main issue is how tanks don't have damage scaling on their accessories; they really just get more HP. Meanwhile, DPS get more and more damage as they upgrade their accessory. This causes an issue long term due to the increasing damage gap making it more and more difficult to hold aggro as the ilvl increases.

    Well, Tanks may not have too much of a choice. The best Str accessories that they can use are i270, which are outdated and eventually the damage gap will get to a point where it becomes difficult to hold aggro again. If Vit increased enmity and said increase scaled with the ilvl (increasing as ilvl increase due to higher ilvl accessories having more vit), the aggro problem will be solved and if the vit accessories let tanks generate more aggro then it should be a no brainer unless SE makes the DPS checks incredibly strict again and Tank DPS becomes necessary to meet checks, but A3S is unlikely to happen again. Personally, I would just love for Vit to be used in the damage calculation again, but I will take increased enmity from Vit over the current state. Either way, I doubt we will get much of a choice.
