    Everything you said just supports my points. BRD does not benefit from crit up and battle voice and they still do more damage then MCH. The whole point is as I said, BRD has more raid utility, more raid DPS abilities, and more personal DPS. As for foes that is the calculated time WITH refresh, 24~27s.

    Just wanted to ensure you had current info. That is a bit of a disappointment, though. I started with Thaumaturge, because before Stormblood, both Bard and Mechanist had a large part of their damage potential locked behind skills that made them have cast times, so I figured I might as well go all the way with it, and was really looking forward to playing as Mechanist once I saw the skill changes planned for Stormblood, shortly before early access started. It really should be that Mechanist gets better personal DPS, since Bard has more party support.

    agree with OP classes feels a lot better then HW but dam did we get the short end of the stick a second time, don't see anyone gonna be taking mch soon till they get buffed cause that is frankly how its gonna work

    i agree... SE really needs to buff MCH otherwise this class is going to be extinct from the game lol.. you figured that they are suppose to make the class 'easier" to deal with in 4.0 but no its the opposite for MCH. it got the most annoying rotation compare to bard.

    the bigger question that needs to be ask Will Square fix mch sooner or wait till the whole expac is over before they get the buff they need, or will mch suffer a Heavensward repeat. i mean I already down Susano ex 6 times and pretty much have my left side geared I'm just gonna finish up gearing which will at most take another day depending if I can get decent farm on lakshima( with our low dps known at this point I wouldn't be surprised that people will start setting up their duty finder to exclude mch kinda happen already last expac)

    I have also played since Day 1 of early release HW on MCH. It is my main class. The issue IMO is that all of MCH abilities were enhanced by % boosts. 5% hotshot. 30% gauss barrel. 10% hypercharge. The heated shot potency buffs and the return of auto-attacks just aren't enough to compensate for 25% dmg loss from gauss barrel, due to how much of an impact this hits wildfire damage. This was the same mistake SE made at HW release, not knowing how to calculate math on auto attacks vs. gauss barrel. They had to buff it from 20% to 30% and EVEN STILL AT 30%, IT WAS A SLIGHT DMG BOOST TO TOGGLE IT OFF. Now it seems it's been poorly done with Wildfire.

    I agree with OP, I would personally like split/slug/clean to generate 10 heat, hypercharge to do 7% instead of 5, and Gauss barrel to be 10%, or hot shot 10%.
    Personally I'd also like Grenado shot to come back, and replace rapid shot. Or make Rapid shot 'transform' into Grenado for 100 dmg potency + the 20 from ammo, so 120 per enemy. Gives us a bit more spike ability. I also like reload/quick reload halt or slightly reduce heat. It would be especially important if split/slug/clean change to 10 heat per shot.

    Then again..as it was when MCH released at HW, perhaps we're doing it wrong and the Dev team has no problem playing the job at a higher potential. So, it's possible we just need to 'git guud' as Yoshi told us before.

    I am Ilvl 308 only missing the accesorries. Right now if we play perfectly we can do comparable or maybe slightly better dps than your average BRD. The punishment for messing up ONCE in a fight is hefty, a direct contradiction from the philosophy of Stormblood in regards to the other classes they made alot of the other classes more approachable play, but MCH only got harder. In 3.0 you had wiggle room here and there for error, here if you push the wrong button at 90 heat your dps is DROPPING. The effort to reward ratio is way off in comparison to other classes like RDM (lol) and Samurai (they have a deeper/harder rotation than RDM but the damage they do is disproportionate to the effort they are putting in). MCH to me is harder to play than these classes but we need to play it perfectly to even compare to the dps of them, and I see a dps ceiling of MCH as I perfect my rotation more and more, when I know that if I played samurai or RDM I could be easily doing much more damage.

    Flamethrower doesnt cancel randomly...it only cancels if you move or turn you character...means no right click while FT is on...this sucks

    It does randomly cancel. I play on legacy, so I don't have that right click issue. But someone was explaining to me, that if the targeted mob moves while you are using FT it will cancel. I'm not sure if they are still checking it out or not. Its not something that happens so often that it annoys me. I've seen it maybe 3 times. First time I blamed myself. Second time was like okay. Third time was like somethings up with that.

    Square-Enix broke Maschinist. Again. It happened with 3.0 and its happening with 4.0 again.

    First of all, MCH feels much weaker than before. It starts by removing about half of my skills from Heavensward. I m not 70 yet, but playing MCH feels like shooting with blank ammunition. But lets get deeper.

    1. The old MCH was nearly perfect (except that ugly GB). You have to cast, but you re still very agile, because of your ammunition, procs and off-GCDs. MCH was MEANT to be some kind of "half-caster". Nothing wrong with that. You have ONE Buff, ONE DoT and your procs. And that was ok. I dont know ANY MCH who complained about the cast-times. Removing it, was a bad idea.

    2. The new MCH doesnt make ANY sense. 3 Ammunition instead of 5. Did MCH forgot how to get 5 bullets? Are the new Stormblood-Guns smaller? Additionally, they can all OVERHEAT now! WTF? Whats happening??? Some new skills are so dumb. You can create holographic screens, but its called "Barrel Stabelizer"... ??? Your heated skills are like "lets summon 8 oversized bullets in mid air" and "look, I got two laser satelites now". Sure, it looks fancy, but its still dumb. Oh, and Wildfire is also reduced to 10 seconds. And to get into Heated or even Overheat is very hard, especially when you try to use your ammunition for better combos. Quick-Reload decrease your Heat by 10. Thats great >: (

    3. With all nerfs and the removal of your most important skills, MCH become the weakest DPS-class ever. Even Bards got a higher burst than the MCH. How ironic, because MCH was meant to be "more DPS, less utility". But the reality is: less DPS, less utility.

    In fact, I m happy not to raid with Stormblood. I m totally useless right now. I guess it will take 2 more patches, until MCH will be usefull again. Thank you Square-Enix, you totally broke my main job! If you re planing to change the jobs again, you better ask other players or at least PLAY THE JOB BY YOURSELF FIRST!
