I want to see a beast master dps that uses 1H axe/shield, and has a pet gap closer where the toon picks up the pet and throws it at the mob.

I'd say whips for BST like in FF5.
Firearms seem pretty unpopular among Eorzeans/Domans, and even those that do use them are using black powder shotguns or flintlock rifles, not the more modern firing mechanics that gunblades use. I don't think anyone outside of Garlond Ironworks or Skysteel Manufactory would be interested in acquiring them.
Necromancer, from FFV Advance....its like an evil blue mage
Not saying it'll ever happen, but a girl can dream . . .
From this linked live letter:
Although he has said that he'd want Blue Mage, Yoshi has also explained multiple times how Blue Mage as it is fully recognized in the Final Fantasy series simply wouldn't be possible in a proper and reasonable MMORPG (a.k.a. not FFXI). Sure, it's possible, as I showed in a thread that I should eventually do a rework on (#shamelessplug), but it'd be important to understand that what we'd get in the game likely isn't going to be what fans of the series have come to know of the job.I think that blue mage is an interesting job because you can learn spells from enemies, but honestly I don't think that it really fits MMORPG party settings. If anything, I think it would work solo and it would be really fun to implement it as a job where you go around and learn abilities from every monster, so I'd definitely like to try and do this, but I'm concerned when it comes to playing in a party players would put up barriers if you haven't learned certain abilities. Additionally, in the event you are able to use abilities forever once you learn them, the difficulty of learning abilities would be high, and we wouldn't be able to balance the system so it wouldn't revolve around procuring your abilities instead of equipment. This wouldn't be practical enough to fit in an MMORPG party setting and conversely if you are swapping in only certain abilities you've learned, the true image of a blue mage would diminish, so this is something that I am concerned with.
Now as for other potential candidates, after the dust has settled from our shiny, new mechanics tweaks, we'll most likely get a tank and a healer not because of demand for those essential roles, but rather to improve the variety of choices in those departments.
For a new tank, there are two paths here. One is the orthodox: the same tried-and-true tin-can tank like the three options we have right now. The other is the unorthodox, being either a caster tank like potentially Geomancer or something like Dancer which could have effects providing defense and other stats needed for a suitable tanking experience. Now if only tanks right now had that.....
Anyway, same case goes for the next healer. An orthodox healer would be another spellcaster like that Oracle-style job Yoshi mentioned wanting to add as a third job in Stormblood. The unorthodox healer choice would be anything but a caster such as Dancer or some modified version of Chemist.
Blue Mage they are either trying really hard to avoid adding or are trying to trick us into thinking they won't just to add it next expansion.
Beastmaster would be a good implementation for a pet system and potential Whip user, thus adding another Blunt DPS so Monk isn't alone anymore, unless it ends up like the casters who don't count because their Blunt attacks are auto-attacking lol
Dancer could make a decent support Job. Wouldn't consider it a Healer candidate but it could be a DEX candidate.
Geomancer is tricky to implement in its classical way, so perhaps a Healer candidate?
Mime because we all wanna dress like Gogo!![]()
Not quite as there is a Side-quest storyline that goes into this topic of people outside of Garlemald using Gunblades being a small Doma village.Firearms seem pretty unpopular among Eorzeans/Domans, and even those that do use them are using black powder shotguns or flintlock rifles, not the more modern firing mechanics that gunblades use. I don't think anyone outside of Garlond Ironworks or Skysteel Manufactory would be interested in acquiring them.
As the side-quest stated the Gunblade is actually considered far easier weapon to master than any other weapon no matter a person's skill level and some of the new design Gunblades we see in 4.0 are using Flintlock rifles as part of their design.
of course this also revealed the gunblades are often looted from Garlean bases due to lack of security.
For me, blue Mage is all that is left. Any other jobs after that are pure, glorious bonuses.
Make Blue Mage tank please. If you have trouble designing it, call me SE. I am serious.
We need one Mage type job a tank, for the balance and to bring it all full circle.
Blue mage as a tank would amazing! also im liking the Chemist healer idea. Sounds like it could go hand and hand with Alchemist of sorts. Maybe that's how that job could be introduced.
