You are put on a 30 sec cd (or 25, do not remember), I done it before, very fun to go in a sub 20 DF, use cleric, then switch it out for aero. (and protect when people complain but it does not matter for those low df)

They are supposedly removing that penalty.
You realize that if you played for about 4 hours a day, and did about 2 hours of content, and had to switch something every time, this would be 1440 switches a day? That's assuming it takes 5 seconds to switch something. It could get really tedious after awhile. Especially when it's something that should simply be a base ability to begin with.

I used to be an adventurer, but then my ping increased.

Er, 1440 switches in 120 minutes of content play would be 12 switches a minute which.... no.
edit: Let's say in that 2 hours you do 10 dungeons (which is estimated very high) and let's say you switch for every boss that is ~30 switches so 150s (if it is 5s, it still could be 0) so 2.5 minutes per day and THIS is the hill we are choosing to die on?

If you do 4h contents, each 15 mins long, you do 16 contents in 4h. With 5s switching that's 80s per day.
1440 switches would be 2h of non-stop switvhing skills.
1440s if 'switches' was a typo are 288 switches.
You don't make any sense at all.
Gosh.
PLS.
STOP.
THIS BS.

I said 2 hours of content in 4 hours of play time. So I'm not counting the downtime waiting for content. I'm estimating at straight content, and switching every 5 seconds to prove a point. Whatever time stamp you want to slap on it, switching constantly WILL become tedious.Er, 1440 switches in 120 minutes of content play would be 12 switches a minute which.... no.

I highly *HIGHLY* doubt we will be switching anything remotely resembling constantly. HOWEVER, I will concede your point that if I have to switch every 5 seconds it will be tedious. :PI said 2 hours of content in 4 hours of play time. Would be funny to watch though in a raid. Everyone stutter stepping, pausing every 5 seconds to swap out abilities. =D

Player
Where is proof of this? To me people are just saying that to make sense of the nonsense of making the role actions like they are. That also basically means you can always use all of them, just leave your menu up, leaving more hudd bloat????
They did say it is not the final version and I hope these threads are letting them think some things over. They should just make baseline abilities baseline, all this is achieving is illusion of choice.
