    Over simplified systems lead to easier automation (botting). Aside from that I think there needs to be more reason to push bad players away, not so much as blatantly promoting elitism, but a wall like system the Soul Series has had to 'weed out the baddies'. Sure this would make the game have mixed reviews, especially upfront to those who can't adapt, but at the very least player quality would have to go up, at very least the bottom line would shrink. -- Kill the game? No. Save the game? Yes.

    Currently the game is designed in such a way, that the player is mindful of their actions and their timing, as well as mindful of their characters position.

    Removing the need to be mindful of the characters actions, by implementing a 1 > 1 > 1 combo system, and a Macro'ed buff button, would result in a 1 > 2 > 1 > 2 combat system. Which is worse than the original 1.0 combat system, where you spammed the "attack button" and then used other actions once you gained the appropriate amount of TP.


    If they implemented what youre asking for and the 1 > 1 > 1 system they now have in PvP, they would need to add a vast array of other battle mechanic elements, or else this game would fall faster than 1.0. So no thank you.



    TLDR:

    So no, they should not implement the current PvP "press 1 button" combo system into PvE, nor should they remove the need to properly time abilities (oGCD actions) animation lock. As this would result in a recreation of a worse 1.0 combat system of spamming an "attack button" over and over and a "buff" button over and over. At least not without adding many more elements to the combat system.

    The game is already botted. You can get apps that do your rotation for your and even make hotkeys if you are a pc user that perform the combos for you. This would itleast put ps4 users a bit more on even grounds with pc players.

    I played TERA, and I'm not quite sure what you mean. Are you talking about spacebar? Spacebar combo wasn't very good, because abilities could chain into multiple things. For example, Cross Parry chains into both Blade Draw and Smoke Flanker. But it only shows the Smoke Flanker chain if Blade Draw is on cooldown.

    You can see what I mean at 0:25 in this video. Smoke Flanker only shows up as a chain because Blade Draw is on cooldown. But whether I want to use Smoke Flanker or not has nothing to do with whether Blade Draw is on cooldown. Also, this is a post from one of the best theorycrafters in TERA and he said you should never use spacebar because it's a DPS loss.

    Right Clic combo was a few attacks in one key, but know I think of it the icon never change.

    In regards to the whole topic:

    Does anyone else get the feeling they're just testing to see how this works out in PVP before tossing it into PvE?

    If that is the case I think we'll see it on 5.0 launch.

    Do they really need it to test for 2 whole years? I say bring the option earlier at least.

    I'm happy they are doing it in PvP and I posted on something I called "Stacks" a while back (long while) where we could build out our own "combos" of actions into a stack for a button, and it did and if statement to move to the next action if the current landed, etc... basically an enhancement to macros that we have now.

    I'd still love to see something like that for PvE too. Or this combo system in PvE

    The 4.0 changes were made to close the gap between casual and hardcore dps players, if they see that the changes are not good enough and notice that the 1 button combo is doing well in PvP, I would not be suprised to see the 1 combo button being added to the PvE content.

    I doubt it.
    The devs want to seperate PvP more fom PvE. Or do you think that "gear will be only for the look" is also a test for PvE?
