Completely unrelated to the thread, unsure whether you are a troll or not, but if playing Players versus X stresses you out, why bother? XIV offers so many other things like the Gold Saucer, crafting, quests... Especially if you find yourself unable to perform or if you are unwilling to invest a certain amount of time and effort? I sat many hours on the training dummy HAMMERING THAT ROTATION INTO MY HEAD. Do you have the same attitude in real life? Because I cannot see the self-pitying 'you should also feel sorry for me, please ban me but please notice me' attitude getting you that far on any fronts. Do you need help? Because if that is the case please reach out. This is concerning.

There are fates worse than reporting. No...you'll stay here, stuck in forum hell, posting and whining for our amusement forever.

    But, dramallama aside:

You know what else is hard? Being alive. There are so many cognitive processes going on at any one time that multi tasking is just something we get used to doing. And we get used to a set of tasks, like the ones you outline here, through repetition (ie practice). And the adage "Practice makes perfect" is wrong, "Perfect practice makes perfect." is more accurate.

I try to learn what is expected of my job, and do my damndest to perform at that level until performing at that level is second nature. It's not being good, far from it, it's being so damn persistent that you don't even realize you've gotten better when you progress.

A standard personal parser and pre-made groups being able to opt in to a public parser seems fair to me. Gives players the tools to improve themselves, groups tackling tough content a tool to see where the group needs to improve, and avoids forcing players into a competitive environment for casual content.
I don't have strong feelings for or against a reward system.

Not until you crappy players don't even have the money to even begin to formulate the thought of paying for the internet, let alone Final Fantasy XIV.

I mean if we're gonna ride this slippery slope let's take it to the very extreme.

EDIT: I'm not even sorry for coming across harsh this time, actually. Just reading your behavior over this thread you're looking to be a martyr, so I do not believe you in any way actively work to improve yourself.

Now I know you're just an attention seeker. I gave you two rotations and all you do is cry about how much you suck. Your attitude certainly does. And that's the only thing that holds you back. Stop crying for attention and go practice if you actually care to get better.

I think an awesome idea is a reward system based on a grading system. for example 95-100% expected damage based on ilvl (becomes more lenient when you perform other task such as interrupts/stuns/etc) for S-grade. 90-94% A-grade, 80-89% B, 75-79% C, 65-74% D, and anything less than 64% is a E.

When it comes to healing it can have a set number that reduces points for over healing which can be recovered by doing dps or other tasks like mentioned previously(maybe even buffs?).

While tanks is a combination of how much damage is mitigated and how much damage is dealt.

It would incentive players to push their limits for a high rating. An average person or grade that to be shooting for is upper Bs or A rating while those who min/max everything master the mechanics, etc can work towards gaining an S ranking. If you get a C or lower then it means you need to work on your performance. The higher the ranking the higher the rewards.

After dungeon completion you would get your rank and stuff like dps, overall damage, interrupts, etc.

I actually get where you're coming from. More so if all the feedback you get is negative, it starts to feel everyone is out to get you. That is not true of course in game of this size. No one is personally against you. They just say what they see and move on. Thing is though, the personal parser as suggested in this thread would not show results to anyone else than you. As such, you would see how you play, but you'd also see when it goes a bit better or worse. When you see it goes better, you can try to do that stuff more, that's what the learning is about. No one can learn without being able to make mistakes, even the best ones. By seeing what works better than other things you'd have feedback that's unbiased. Programmed meter, for one thing, doesn't have anything personal against anyone.

As for the reward system, I'm somewhat against it. There is no way to make automatized system that could objectively reward good playing. And we already know people do exactly what they need to get a reward and nothing more. As soon as the point system was figured out, people would find loopholes and the result would be bad playing practices.

Ok, this doesn't exactly belong to this thread and if I was on your server I'd ask in game but. Where there do you keep falling? Is there some particular encounter mechanic that proves hard to tackle?

If you say 'pls' because it's shorter than 'please', I say 'no' because it's shorter than 'yes'.

I'm absolutely all for an in game parser but at least initially it would have to be self only until the casual side of the community warms up to the benefits it brings. Irespective of if it's right or wrong, going from nothing to a complete party wide parser built directly into the game is going to put the creeps up a lot of people.

It doesn't need to be a deep dive into your numbers, just an average dps and your max hit across the entire instance on screen as you exit (perhaps alongside a record of your current personal best) would do wonders for those that are interested and motivated by aiming for higher. Those that aren't concerned can simply ignore it.

And just to chime in on some of the fears stated earlier, as long as SE keep their current stance of 'harassing someone over numbers will get a temp ban', then I don't buy the whole 'I'll get discriminated against' deal one little bit, if someone hassles you, politely ask them to stop, if they carry on, report them and move on, it's as simple as that.
