I have a question for the poll creator.

Your two affirmative choices are not in any way similar. the 1st choice is a straight yes, and the second is a Yes, but change everything. If you are happy with it as it is, but you would welcome complete change in the game, how are you really happy with it as it is? It's a false poll option because welcoming fundamental change is akin to saying, no, I'm not happy, I want change.

    I think you should close the poll, and reopen it with;
    1. Yes, completely happy.
    2. Yes, happy, but some changes would increase my enjoyment.
    3. I don't know, changes might help me like it.
    4. No, but it's better than other MMORPGs, fundamental change might help me.
    5. No, I am completely unhappy with the game for reasons posted, no change can save it for me

The trouble for me with this poll is that you go from yes happy, to yes happy but change everything. You need to have a "yes, happy but some change might help improve things" options because right now you present a binary choice between no change and fundamental change. That's a false choice - IMHO, something pollsters have to be wary of offering lest it skew results.

I'm sorry you're not happy with the poll. I'm usually rather quiet and don't do things like these, so i lack experience in them.
Shall i ever do another one, i'll be sure to make fundamental changes to them.

My thought process when creating this poll was,
People are either happy or not with FFXIV as it is as of now.
And they either want bigger changes or not.
And people that are unhappy and have no hope for 4.0 to bring about the change they seek are most likely already gone anyway, as Critical-Limit pointed out.

I thought it would be better to keep it rough and simple.
As the more choices there are, the more intimidating the poll seems to players probably, and the less likely they are to participate.
And you could go down that route and make the poll even more detailed, as everyone most likely desires different changes.

I'd rather not remake the poll either, as i don't wanna bug people to do another one, i think that would be an annoyance to most people.
But if you'd like to do it, i'd welcome you to re-do the poll the way you think it should have been.
Or maybe someone can do a follow-up poll that is a bit more detailed, asking what changes people would like, or what part they are dissatisfied/satisfied with.

And i would love to get their opinions too, but i'm afraid i can't think of a way to get them.
Maybe even a number of how many people dropt the game during each patch without returning would do.

I agree with you but I think most of us who are picking that choice are not picking it too literally.

Also you can make a fundamental change without changing the game completely. What they are doing with subskills is a fundamental change. having Normal and Savage for Alexander was a fundamental change to Raiding.

I would really like to see a fundamental change to substats and itemization in general. That doesn't mean they have to get rid of Tomes, Roulettes, Trials or Raids.
