If you are happy with it as it is, but you would welcome complete change in the game, how are you really happy with it as it is? It's a false poll option because welcoming fundamental change is akin to saying, no, I'm not happy, I want change.

    I think you should close the poll, and reopen it with;
    1. Yes, completely happy.
    2. Yes, happy, but some changes would increase my enjoyment.
    3. I don't know, changes might help me like it.
    4. No, but it's better than other MMORPGs, fundamental change might help me.
    5. No, I am completely unhappy with the game for reasons posted, no change can save it for me

The trouble for me with this poll is that you go from yes happy, to yes happy but change everything. You need to have a "yes, happy but some change might help improve things" options because right now you present a binary choice between no change and fundamental change. That's a false choice - IMHO, something pollsters have to be wary of offering lest it skew results.
I'm sorry you're not happy with the poll. I'm usually rather quiet and don't do things like these, so i lack experience in them.
Shall i ever do another one, i'll be sure to make fundamental changes to them.

My thought process when creating this poll was,
People are either happy or not with FFXIV as it is as of now.
And they either want bigger changes or not.
And people that are unhappy and have no hope for 4.0 to bring about the change they seek are most likely already gone anyway, as Critical-Limit pointed out.

I thought it would be better to keep it rough and simple.
As the more choices there are, the more intimidating the poll seems to players probably, and the less likely they are to participate.
And you could go down that route and make the poll even more detailed, as everyone most likely desires different changes.

I'd rather not remake the poll either, as i don't wanna bug people to do another one, i think that would be an annoyance to most people.
But if you'd like to do it, i'd welcome you to re-do the poll the way you think it should have been.
Or maybe someone can do a follow-up poll that is a bit more detailed, asking what changes people would like, or what part they are dissatisfied/satisfied with.

And i would love to get their opinions too, but i'm afraid i can't think of a way to get them.
Maybe even a number of how many people dropt the game during each patch without returning would do.

I agree with you but I think most of us who are picking that choice are not picking it too literally.

Also you can make a fundamental change without changing the game completely. What they are doing with subskills is a fundamental change. having Normal and Savage for Alexander was a fundamental change to Raiding.

I would really like to see a fundamental change to substats and itemization in general. That doesn't mean they have to get rid of Tomes, Roulettes, Trials or Raids.

I dunno, I see more people on the forums complaining about how BAD the game is than people praising it, so I get the feeling it will be skewed the other way.

I have to agree with kos mos. fundamental changes are something I would want, that doesn't mean im satisfied with them doing the same thing as before. Heavensward's endgame in particular left a lot to be desired.

I am happy with everything except minor issues like ugly characters (e.g. Ishgard peasants)

The funny thing here is that even despite all the posts saying people aren't happy, this is a terrible place to try to objectively carry out this kind of poll. Wonder how bad it'd be if you included everyone with or who recently had a subscription.

Having played ESO it could be much much worse. The gripes I have with ff14 are the following

    1. There is still no adorable and smol Kitsune race. We need this!
    2. There are no fairy glamours. Come on Square give use stuff like elemental aspects and the like to change up lilly's over all theme and color!
    3. Please for the love of god nerf the bloody Aether farm already! we're 41 days away from stormblood and I'm burnt out as all hell on the anima grind.

    1. I wouldn't be opposed to a race with fox ears and tails, however, you'll get the arguments against it that Viera get. Just another Miqo'te race, basically. Also, I wouldn't want them, 'Smol,' at all. Cute can be subjective, but as long as the faces aren't god-awful monstrous/insomniac/rage faces, I'd be happy.

    2. Would pay for male faeries at this point. Down with this one-sided gender favoritism I say! Bring on Helios and Oberon!

    3. I can agree with this. Not sure anyone can disagree, unless it only took like, 1 dungeon run per rune to complete.

Had to answer "no, other reasons". I'm hoping for fundamental changes, but it's gotten to the point where, barring those changes, I'd rather dabble in or swap to other MMOs. Some of the issues I'm feeling most may be universal, faced by any veteran in their respective MMO, but others have bugged me since XIV's release and merely continue to. Worse, they don't seem to be areas of upcoming change or even significant polish, namely:
    • For its alleged graphical interest, XIV has comparatively awful textures, whether from tessellation or sheer resolution. Skin often looks more like plastic.
    • Although I quickly found a character appearance I like, all but one of my frequent attempts to find another character appearance (preferably male) is met with the same issue: customization is painfully limited, both in terms of faces and builds and expression sets. This sticks out more for some races (e.g. Hyur males, and either Au'ra) than others.
    • Combat isn't especially intuitive nor especially dynamic for the amount of buttons it requires. That button count is no issue on keyboard (and probably even less of one on controller), but it still strikes me as a very clear lack of design vision; the button bloat (such as from combos) just points out issues what often appear to be abilities set as specific abilities only to suit some sort of chart or system rather than aiming for equity through individual designs for each class or job (then varying however they might vary).
    • For all their flair, animations have no weight. Whereas even other trinity MMOs will have ragdoll effects (and in their addition, additional means for teamplay by making damage more than just a long-term output), XIV character perform long and sometimes even gaudy attacks that do... nothing.
    • There's little use of under-mechanics. The only one of any real significance not tied to a categorical standard DR is enmity, and it's about as dull an incarnation of a threat system as one can get, especially given how little crossover there is from other roles (e.g. dps) into its manipulatives.
