[Poll] Are you happy with the current state of FFXIV?

I think it's interesting to see the votes so far, i made this thread on reddit as well.

The response on reddit seems to be a lot more positive and people seem content there. :P
While people seem more dissatisfied on the official forums.

Honestly this dev team should look at what the XI team did for expansions to see how you can be creative with new content and not just make the n-th reiteration of the same formula.

While FFXI is my favorite MMO to be honest, looking at the results so far it seems about 75-80% are happy with the current state of the game.
Of which 1/3 of the happy players (25% of total) does not want changes,
while 2/3 of the happy players (52% of total) would welcome bigger changes.
And pretty much 4/5 of the unhappy players (18% of total) sticks around because, while they're not happy as it is, they still think this is the best MMO available or have hope for 4.0

So i'd say SE is doing everything right so far, sticking to their formula and just occasionally testing the waters with trying new content here and there.
The number of Happy players that do not want changes is bigger than the number of unhappy players waiting for changes.

I think going forward if you make a poll such as this, you should include a question asking how long the person has played for. There's probably a very real correlation between how long a person has played for and how bored they've gotten of the status quo formula while newer players are likely to be more satisfied because it's still mostly fresh to them.

i dunno, ive been playing since beta 1.0 and im pretty happy with the game. I see more XI vets complaining the game isnt XI enough for them.

Ha! I've been here since 1.0 beta, and I've been playing FFXI since PS2 release (i.e., CoP), and I'm perfectly happy with XIV as-is. Remember, all generalizations are false!

I didnt say ALL XI vets complained, i just said more than those who have been playing XIV for an extended time period.

Oh I know, I just thought it was funny how each person added another caveat to the original generalization. Heck, I was going to do one myself - I think people who did endgame in XI are the main ones complaining - until I realized it would be more of the same.

I don't know who is or is not happy with the game, but I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who is!

I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for data for determination of correlation rather than just see personal anecdotes which will exist for both viewpoints and really don't contribute much of anything in regards to the trend of data.

Where's my what? Data? No one has that. That's why I requested it. Anecdote? I already stated that.

I only went so far as to assume a correlation (that's a hypothesis), said that it would be nice if we had data (test the hypothesis), but did not go so far as to make a conclusion. I don't see the big deal here.
