@ Shipp - I never said your name specifically so why do you always think I'm referring to you? oh and to whoever said the game isn't real life so we should accept same sex marriage in game... there is plenty of other things the game needs to survive without worrying about such a lame idea. Allcars is going to marry herself btw. I dont care what you guys do, just dont ruin the important parts of the game please. This will be my last post on this topic. Please, everyone marry each other, oh and when the Someone asks the question to Yoshi on the Live YouTube whatever... please make sure you ask about Polygamy also, I'd like to marry Allcars and her other character as well as many other women, one isn't enough.. It only seems fitting. Can I marry my chocobo too? hes pretty cool and I know he feels the same way about me, Little Midlandabos running around. You know.

Quoting me is a pretty good indication you're responding to me. Like I said, you're someone who doesn't want to accept gay marriage in real life, so you take your prejudice over to a video game. This is evident by your strawman arguments and red herrings.

i just feel extremists act as if marriage is an actual living entity which is being weekend by homosexual kryptonite or something.
durring both california elections on gay marriage in the past few years the right wing kept saying things pertaining to "save marriage" and "marriage is sacred".
i just think "ok so what and where is marriage and why does it need to be protected by the homosexuals?... are they waving pitch forks or something?"
but these things are realistically false. marriage is not a thing. realistically its an ideal that should develop to accommodate its current society. there just isnt any rationality to keep it exclusive to heterosexuals. two men can love eachother exactly equally as a man and a woman. if you see the homosexuals love as less than then that is the only rational reason to keep marriage from them. but as we all know, homosexuals love just like everyone else.

Ah, I see what you mean now. Considering everything else stated in your post: I think we're of like minds. Better to have two individuals marry who are actually emotionally invested into one another rather than to perpetuate this illusion that only opposite genders can love one another. Now me personally, I'm a heterosexual, but that doesn't make me a bigoted fanatic wanting to flame homosexuals at the torch even though what they share is genuine. That's just not me. I don't want to go off in any other tangents though, risking a potentially huge blowback and endless flaming and trolling.

After all the stupidity and whining people made about marriage in XI, I seriously doubt they would add it to this game. They got pretty sick of all the bitching in XI enough to remove GM support for it altogether. And until people can grow up and stop making political arguments over a video game because they're insecure about their own sexuality, we'll continue to lose out on things like this.

Of course if SE just took Bioware's stance and told the 13 year old closet cases to STFU because they're putting it in no matter how much you bitch and whine like a little girl, it wouldn't be an issue either.

This thread is why marraige should stay out of a game.

Geez, people have to make an issue out of EVERYTHING. There is no way they could implement it without people squealing about something it does/does not have even if it has NOTHING to do with the game itself. People just want something to pontificate about on both sides, something to annoy/harrass/humiliate each other about. It's like you're not happy unless you're throwing poo at each other.

Even if everyone in the game could marry everyone else, the next step is everyone divorcing because they can't get along anyway!

In any case, lately on the forums it's seemed like trolls have been running rampant. This is far much worse than what I've seen in the WoW forums. Although, now that I think about it: The majority of people who are arguing against marriage in-game most likely represent the elitist and trolling demographic - not really making any progress for themselves or for others. Just sitting and staring blankly at their computer monitors just harassing people just to entertain themselves.

Degenerate adj. Having fallen below a normal or desirable level, especially in physical or moral qualities.

I'd say that this is a more suitable term for such individuals.

You don't know me, Marriage is something invented by man and is nothing more then a piece of paper so i don't care who does what with it, if 5 people agree to marry each other, why should I care, if two dudes or ladies want to marry each other.. again, it doesn't impact me so i don't care but I'm not surprised by your assumption. People like you make that assumption often.

The point about it being what people want in game and has nothing to do with RL politics is a good one so while your appeasing two sets of people with opposite sex and same sex marriage please also appease the third and add in polygamy, there is no reason me and my entire LS should be discriminated against when we all want to marry each other.

My point still stands though, this is a stupid feature and there are PLENTY of more important things needed before we get into dumb ideas such as this one.

I know i said i wouldn't reply again but Shipp made a pretty strong accusation and assumption and was WRONG.

@ Hiirnoivl - When the time comes that this feature is built in divorce might as well be built in also, people quit or grow to dislike each other, why wouldn't you want to remarry? Why should people who like to divorce be discriminated against in a game? Maybe after I marry my entire LS I will want to divorce them a day later.
