Wedding Bells in Eorzea?

What part of, "I will never use the feature," did you not comprehend? It was part of XI and it was tastefully done in that game. It is completely optional for role players and real life couples who want to marry their characters in game too.

If you don't want to partake, then don't do it, just like I won't. However I have a major problem with discrimination, and if SE wants to keep the "straight only" marriage option, that will just be one more stain on XIV's record of them not keeping up with the times. Either allow both or don't allow either.

whether or not i agree with same sex marriage, there are plenty of people who do and do not therefore the concept is stupid anyway why would you want to impose such a situation on any other person in a video game? You think your right, the person who doesn't believe in SSM believes their right. Point is, its an unnecessary conflict for a video game. EVERYONE will live without it however many people on one side or the other will be offended if its built in with or without SSM. I personally hate cats and wish i could kill them in game but you don't see me asking for a "Kitten in a Bag" drowning event in the spring because 1. its not important to the game and 2. Soooo many cat lovers would cry and slit their wrists to the dying computer cats.

In game marriage is controversial and not important to the game. Everyone should be adult enough to agree to disagree about the same sex marriage situation and leave marriage out of game. Until everyone can agree on one side or one side becomes significantly larger then the other, its not important enough to the game and its story to offend others. All of you MUST HAVERS are selfish for pushing your beliefs onto others. Dont say im selfish because I didnt push for either side, im pushing for middle ground which is leaving a STUPID idea that is so controversial out of the game.

We should be arguing about JUMP and SWIM and AUTO ATTACK.. not real life situations... Next thing you know we should be building Obama in as the Eorzeas World Leader because someone thinks hes the best president ever and should rule the Earth, then someone else gets on here and says.... "No way it should BUSH..." then we are going on and on and on about how not all Europeans care about NA and its politics and they are better and queen whoever should rule the earth and Eorzea something stupid like that as well.. Give up the real life situations and please keep the game friendly for all adult parties and leave RL politics out.

Wrong, point is whether they believe in it or not in the real world should not affect a video game. It's cool if they don't believe it should happen in real life. That's their opinion. I also urge those people to not play XIV at all since it's a polytheistic game that good <insert religion>s here shouldn't be a part of.

I'm not a "must haver." I said if it's going to be in the game, it needs to be both types of marriages, otherwise it can stay out.

Your position isn't of a "middle" ground. It's of the, "I don't believe in same sex marriage, thus I don't think it should be in a fictional world, so I'll make asinine analogies and call people "must havers" who simply want both or neither." It was never an issue in XI, except for those of us ticked that it was only opposite sex. Times have largely changed now and if SE doesn't want gay marriage in their game, then they shouldn't have any marriage in their game.

@ Shipp - I never said your name specifically so why do you always think I'm referring to you? oh and to whoever said the game isn't real life so we should accept same sex marriage in game... there is plenty of other things the game needs to survive without worrying about such a lame idea. Allcars is going to marry herself btw. I dont care what you guys do, just dont ruin the important parts of the game please. This will be my last post on this topic. Please, everyone marry each other, oh and when the Someone asks the question to Yoshi on the Live YouTube whatever... please make sure you ask about Polygamy also, I'd like to marry Allcars and her other character as well as many other women, one isn't enough.. It only seems fitting. Can I marry my chocobo too? hes pretty cool and I know he feels the same way about me, Little Midlandabos running around. You know.

This thread is why marraige should stay out of a game.

Geez, people have to make an issue out of EVERYTHING. There is no way they could implement it without people squealing about something it does/does not have even if it has NOTHING to do with the game itself. People just want something to pontificate about on both sides, something to annoy/harrass/humiliate each other about. It's like you're not happy unless you're throwing poo at each other.

Even if everyone in the game could marry everyone else, the next step is everyone divorcing because they can't get along anyway!
