Reasons I don't raid Savage content:

    1) I can't trust those cliques any farther than I can throw King Kong.

    2) Raid mechanics seem to be deliberately mage-unfriendly. Getting into a rhythm is nearly impossible without AoEs plastering 75%+ of the battlefield.

    3) They require reaction times that a neurotic cat couldn't achieve.

I do hope to try party finders out more in Stormblood though.
From my experience, I joined groups who had the dps but kept making the same mistakes, causing wipes (no Soar in the beginning, but tether errors were consistent). I also joined groups who DIDN'T have the dps, but the battle flown nicely due to knowledge of mechanics (we saw Soar in the beginning, but still win the fight).

I can't commit to a static. NA server statics tend to have an almost unhealthy requirement for dedication & perfection that I'm not willing to accept. It's almost like it's a lifestyle, a life or death situation, rather than still just gaming. Doing 1dps less than optimal or unable to raid four times a week for 3hrs minimum each time? Then you're clearly a scrub casual & can't be involved. X'D

    Yes, this is heavily satirical.

Man, when I see those requirements, I cringe every time.

I used to raid in WOW here and there, and eventually discovered that I just wasn't good at raiding. So eventually I decided it wasn't worth anymore.

Also, there's way too much pressure to be perfect and I can't deal with that.

I also got tired of hearing that I have to speak in voice chat if I want to raid because voice chat is very hard for me.

Non-raider purely because I don't have the time. Raiding is like a job, you need to turn up on the time your raid team needs you. You cannot raid if you can't put the time aside for it.

So list your reasons below. Raider or not and why?
Raid in Everquest. After that, even the 24 man raids here are too small, numbers-wise, so I do not bother with them. Give me some REAL raids - 3 party alliances are a start, how about 6 party alliances? We don't *have* to see everyone's health in an alliance.

Im a non serious raider, as in I'll pluck about one or two savage runs that Im not amazingly intimidated by and ease the tension by doing it in duty finder but being someone who did void ark, Wiping city and Dun scaith not only in a row but with only one wipe at the start of mhach Id say more of those! Those were fun! And less of the Benny Hill crazy purgatory level of memory games that is alexander savage.

Though if I had a static that is fun and crazy like NEST then oh god Id do nothing but raid success or not.

I haven't raided in this game at all since I've started it last year summer time. Before FF14, I used to raid anything and everything in any game I used to play. That was a time when I was younger and had more time in my life (used to work only 3 days a week, totally 40 hours). I don't know if its an age thing (I'm 30 now) but I noticed in the last three years alone, raiding started exhausting me. I don't know if it was the progression times I spent or learning or whatever but it came to a point where I couldn't see myself doing any activity longer than 30mins without starting to feel tired.

I think that's why FF14 feels like the game most suited currently at this time for me. Its so...lackadaisical in everything it provides that I can pop into the game and just completely mellow out. Even if its savage or 24man. As for 8man savage, I just learn it to clear and don't bother repeating it because I have poor retention rate and BiS gear isn't my focus.

Can't say for sure if I'll go back to timelocking myself for SB but for now...I just want to keep this mellow pace. Can't exactly do that with other games.

If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
