I contacted the support center and they were trying to make an exception but they said since I knew I had 2 accounts that it was my responsibility to keep track of them. I called corporate and they said they didn't deal with that stuff

Well, yes- contacting corporate for a customer support issue is usually not looked fondly upon. Unless it's a serious grievance. Write back and be polite, and ask *nicely*. Say that yes, you made an error, but you'd really appreciate them assisting you in any way. Given that your first instinct was to come to the forums to belay your frustrations, I am inclined to think you may not have been the most courteous in contacting them. If they say that their hands are tied, ask if there's any other recourse you can get- a discounted month subscription for your main account to tide you over till you can re-purchase a six month piece, or something.
Yes, it is *very* frustrating when something like this happens, but it is ultimately an error on your part and it doesn't help you in any way to try and justify it as being something that was just happenstance.
I was actually very polite through the whole endeavor. The only time that I was upset was when corporate transferred me back to the help desk and they were very rude, wouldn't listen, and just kept repeating "there's nothing we can do for you".
It's not that I literally need to transfer to play. I've been divided between playing this one and my main for a long time, the biggest motivator for playing this one was the cheaper Steam prices (cash shop, subs, expansions), but for one thing that I really want (server transfer to Balmung so I can try to RP) I can't use Steam, so it would be super expensive to transfer on both accounts, making my original one more attractive (I have a looot of stuff there LOL)
It's a bit hard to explain... money is really short for me so everything counts![]()
Being a customer doesn't give you the right to force a company in spending a lot of time to fix a stupid mistake you made that you could have avoided like a thousand times before you actually made it.
Besides, they already said that they tried to make an exception but couldn't. Your reaction should be "it's okay, I understand, it's 100% my mistake and I'll own the responsability. Thank you for taking the time to check anyway", like a grown adult, and not "I'm an angry customer and I'm boycotting Square Enix because they couldn't fix my own problems!1!1!!!!".
At least I hope you learned that you should check your stuff before happily spending 75 bucks.
Honest mistakes do happen, and sometimes you just have to accept the consequences.
It's not reasonable to blame SE when they had no part in the actual problem. Sure they can't/won't fix it, but that's also not their responsibility to do so. If you choose not to continue playing Final Fantasy games as a result, that's obviously your choice, but it doesn't change the fact that the responsibility of the problem still lies with you.
That's why you absolutely have to take your time when making monetary transactions online. I know the feeling. I've made similar mistakes like that in the past before (other things, not this game). When you're being given multiple confirmation pages regarding your acct, make absolutely sure its the right one. And do it while your sound of mind. Not insulting you, just pointing out that sometimes when we're tired, we don't pay attention (especially when doing things after 2am).
In any case, its really sad to hear it happen. There are things that SE can fix but unfortunately, this isn't one of them (by their policies it would seem).
Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
Not that I'm suggesting this is all SE's fault, I would just like to say SE's game service as a whole has always appeared a bit spotty, to me. If there was one thing I found important and superior when I was playing WoW it was the service. At least my anecdotal experience. I would have to add I've read quite a few disheartening CS responses but that /all/ of my GM/CS were very polite with SE, but it was more like sometimes they didn't have the power or information needed to answer or complete the question and I don't really blame them for that since its not like they get to take and be informed on whatever they want - bit about what the tools and info they're officially fed.
WoW was like Nordstrom/Costco and SE is like Sears/Target or something when it comes to ease of getting around the out of game annoyances. The whole account wide, account lock, account issues, purchasing, refunding mistakes, power in the CS's call. Giving them more power would help lol.
It's not like SE is the worst I've ever experienced but if I had to make a list of MMOs with top notch out of game experiences, SE would be at the bottom of that list at best, thankfully not in the top worst experiences either though :P. So not trash, but not great either haha.

Well thanks everyone for your feedback. I know I have been acting slightly childish and letting my emotions get the best of me. But it's just rough knowing you threw $75 down the drain and it seems like an easy fix. At any rate... lesson learned I guess
If this is the case, just call your bank and let them deal with it. You have to be able to receive services you pay for.
Worst case scenario, SE should have refunded the purchase and deactivate the account in question. Otherwise they could face a chargeback.
