Honestly, I was so overjoyed when they announced this because it showed they wont let the game be held back like FFXI.
Sucks for PS3 players, but for the sake of the game, it was absolutely worth it

I cant feel sympathy for the people taking the OP or posts like this as personal attacks. It almost seems like they want to be offended. They're oversensitive IMO, but most of the NA population seems to be.
However I do feel for those who wont be able to play the game anymore. Sucks for them.
In otherwords, the ps3 dropping will only cater to those who worry about graphics, perfect. Can't wait till they shut the ps4 down to overhaul every vase texture. PS3 was never an excuse, but now that its happening, I'm expecting to see several things, more customization options (because ps3 limitations)Actually being able to ride your airships (because ps3 limitations) or hey! ..... Allowing everyone to buy a damn house, Because you know, ps3 limitations. :/
Uh... have this city without loading zones and please never bring those subjects again.PS3 was never an excuse, but now that its happening, I'm expecting to see several things, more customization options (because ps3 limitations)Actually being able to ride your airships (because ps3 limitations) or hey! ..... I understand you're upset but yes blaming the PS3 for quite a few things is a super valid excuse for everything from character creation to UI limitations. You have to realize how absolutely weak the PS3 is. You should take a moment to look at the specs of the over decade old console and compare them to the lowest minimum requirements for the PC version of Stormblood. As Serilda kindly noted earlier, the PS4 version is ahead of the minimum PC requirements, so that isn't much of an issue yet.
I can appreciate that it must really suck to have to struggle for some to continue playing, but SE has made good on their promise for PS3 support from 1.0 and now it's time to move on.
See the problem is you're simply factually incorrect. Just because you want it to be true does not mean it is true. PS3 does prevent things.
-UI elements. Party bonus stat bars had to be hidden in the social tab to allow TP bars for party members. The PS3 couldn't handle this.
-Character creation. Each character has a set amount of memory allocation, Au Ra reached that cap, it's the reason face and horns are locked together.
-Zones. Did you know All three major cities used to be seamless? (like the game itself) These days they are all sectioned off into multiple zones. Kugane will not have this issue, and I can bet why.
So yea, it took more than just management time.
So your saying now that its removed we can have all these things and there won't be a problem? I doubt it, but I'll let you keep thinking that.
Also for the record:
~ PS3 didn't need those bars but it would've helped. Not only that it wouldn't bother the PS4 or PC versions, would it?
~ Character creation, you think PS3 prevented memory usage to increase locks? Fair enough, though they're not getting rid of PS3 for that, its for graphical purposes, in which case they're not caring about character creation as they would've addressed us ages ago of the reason why.
~ Zones? Doubt it, but I'll let you think that till expansion drops, because in that case, I better be able to walk every stormblood area without 5 instances to North South East and West zones.
Yeah so I'm keeping this one to memory. To me the whole PS3 thing is an excuse and only time tells the most.
I'm a little confused why people feel outdated tech holding back future additions is far-fetched. Like a healthy dose of skepticism is good, but I don't think it's a blown out of the water statement to say that technology wise the bottom is an anchor when there's a large difference between the top and bottom.
