You seem to base your opinion upon the idea that gear is ONLY needed for stat-progression when we already mentioned that that isnt true.

With everyone being able to roll "need" (or greed) on an item it lowers your chance to actually get an item you're looking for, you realise that, yes?

So you want to have both ways to your convenience?
Pick one and stick with it.
