I'm not even going to speak about the fact that the item is mogstation exclusive - I'm against it btw.
But 7 dollars for a recycled asset is just ridiculous.

All these people saying no one is forcing you to buy the cash shop items are missing the point. It has no place in a sub game to begin with.
People are well aware they are not being forced to buy anything from it.
They could always increase the sub fee, I'm sure everyone would be ok with that. Sub's have been 14.99 since I first started playing mmos in the early 2000s. Gaming in general is the only thing I know of that hasn't gone up in price.
Then people speak with their wallets. Obviously most has no problem with it since it's still here and not gone.
No, you seem to be the one missing a point. You claim "it has no place in a sub game", and then you fail to provide a rational, logical argument to exactly why you believe that vanity items sold in a cash shop "has no place in a sub game".
Again, we are not entitled to every asset created for the game just by subbing. If they want to create a vanity item (emote, glamour, mount) and incentivize it by making it a cash shop exclusive, then they are well within their rights and expectations as a business.
What you are saying is exactly the same as saying that just because you pay a monthly fee to use the fitness gym, you shouldn't have to pay to rent towels or other convenience items...
The gym comment is funny. I pay for one that includes that in the cost. No, you seem to be the one missing a point. To the rationale argument both sides are flimsy since we are missing pertinent information. Maybe the need the money to keep running, but have never said. Or they are padding someones damn pockets and don't want to admit it. Or they are a poorly managed company that bleeds money and need the cash to plug holes.
First for me at least is did sub money pay to make cash shop items? Did the limited team resources get diverted, when they complain they can't hire enough skilled staff.

Ok, so your gym covers towels. I'm sure they sell other convenience items that aren't covered by your gym membership, which is the point.
And to your second comment, it doesn't matter what sub money goes to. As long as the servers are paid for and they are providing monthly updates, that's all that we are entitled to for our sub money. What they do with any extra money is completely at their discretion, and not any of our business.
Again, that's like saying that money made from gym memberships can only be used to improve the gym and the free services provided, and can't be used to fund another gym or pay dividends to investors... it's illogical and not sound.

The problem to me is not being forced or not to buy this, it's to understand why this is added to the mogstation and not in game directly ? I'd like to understand where the money from my sub is going if SE needs to make an emote 7$ and exclusive to the mogstation. Are they broke or something ? I can not believe that the money I give every month can only bring something like Proto Ultima or a basic Anima weapon step. Well... I can if we consider that an emote is really worth 7$, but I doubt it. Joke aside, the mogstation is starting to be a problem to me, for the obvious reason that I can't understand why, in a game I bought and pay every month to play and have updates, a part of the content, optional or not, is locked behind another paywall. Sounds not fair for the customers in my opinion. But I'm not really suprised, considering what SE is doing on all its games since a few years.
Monthly updates is the issue. While you can't measure the update. Maybe we don't feel the update is full enough. Then we see resources used else where. I am fine with a company making money. The question is "Do we feel like we got a solid game experience (update) with our monthly sub."And to your second comment, it doesn't matter what sub money goes to. Again all this is arbitrary. A patch with lots of gathering might be awesome for some and not others. But you say we can judge on the updates we get. Seems like a few people feel the two dungeon update isn't enough.
Yeah I would like to know as well where the sub and mog station money is going too, since it somehow doesnt look like it goes back to the game?
At least if you look what they plan to give us with SB and compare it to HW. And suddenly new emotes are in the mog station too instead via quests ingame. Hmm. Oh well. It will continue like this anyway.
