Want something in heavy armor, with a big sword, that relies on parrying attacks? Dark Knight says hello.
The Samurai now is what a Samurai would be during the Edo, which is fairly acurate. But the Samurai wanted by some, are the ones from the Sengoku which would still be acurate.

Dark Knights are diffrent. It is an alternative, but ultimatly not what people want. It could be asthetic appeal, animation appeal or visual appeal.
