umm.
what? Are you saying the game is supposed to create the community for us? Are people not capable of making connections with other people themselves?
...like what?
This is exactly what I do, and I love being active in my FC and LS's.You can plug in a usb keyboard to a ps4 just as easily as you can to a PC. Wireless keyboards work too.
If you wanted to, you can play on a PS4 exactly the same as you do on a PC. You can set up the UI to use the PC format and also plug in a usb/bluetooth mouse.
It also works the other way around. You can use the PS4 menu and use a controller on a PC.
So really the only difference between ps4 and PC in this game is a matter of slight performance enhancements and personal preference.
I'm not going to compare those games because those games are old. The internet, and the technology we have that utilizes the internet, are vastly different from 400 years ago when those were the only MMO's out.I get you guys are going to give this guy some flak for a broad generalization, but please understand, he does have a point. Just compare the community activity in Runescape or Ultima Online to that of Everquest II on the PS2.
The reliance on moderation has ruined social interactivity in chat channels as well as RP communities; People need to be exposed to each other without fear of ban hammers. Not to mention trying to solve RP problems through reports? Come on guys, either commit to your RP or don't be in the RP community.
its 2017, and I play ffxiv with my ps4 AND PC friends, and we all have made real connections with each other.
Just from my experience, console players are less invested and quick to jump to the hot new title that hit the shelves. They just play so many different games. The PC players that I know play less games overall and are far more commited to the mmo(s) they play.
Then there are those who play PC and console games. Man, I wish I had that kind of time.
Those console players you know probably like 1 or 2 so of course that means we're all like that.Just from my experience, console players are less invested and quick to jump to the hot new title that hit the shelves. I'm sure there are people like this on all platforms. It still doesn't mean they are less social when they are actually playing.Just from my experience, console players are less invested and quick to jump to the hot new title that hit the shelves. Also I would add that this is coming from a person who in real life struggles with shyness yet in this game all I seem to do is chat lol Really op if I can make friends here you can too.
I made friends that I talk to everyday (even out of the game) in Final Fantasy. You have to put forward the effort if you desire something like that. I was super anti social when I began to play, but after a while I got tired of it. And even if people are on console I still try to get them to speak![]()
I dunno if PC players are any better. Thanks to gaming services like Steam, PC players are FLOODED with cheap but entertaining games. I'm pretty sure that, PC or console, whether someone is "flighty" and hops from game to game is going to depend on the person, not the platform.Just from my experience, console players are less invested and quick to jump to the hot new title that hit the shelves. Hmm I don't think there's a "lack of community", however it's definitely overlooked and kind of absent for what I've noticed in the last years: I've been FCless and Linkshell-less (Is that even a word?) for several months and I can pretty much do anything on my own and I literally have no need for a Free Company or a linkshell for how little they impact my gameplay: I cleared Nidhogg with pugs (7 months later but still), I cleared Sophia with yet another Pug and I'm finding Pugs to train for Zurvan.
So....I dunno, I think it's just overall absent than "lacking". Might be wrong but as long as I can do my content, my roulettes and my few trials, I don't see the need to contact anyone. There's quite literally no incentive as far as I'm concerned.
But I might be wrong so take a shot at it: you might be lucky.
