The Feast is SO much better without chat

I just came out of a game with you. You need chat. 100%. You literally do NOT understand the medal system, you had 2 medals at the end of the game to the point EVERYONE had stacks except you. Unfortunately, I couldn't tell you mid game what an utter fool you were being but spam get medals while jumping up and down next to them. And you just walked by them. So no, it's not better without chat.

Keep in mind that this is taken out of context. It's entirely possible that it's real, but it's also entirely possible that it's not. I've gotten into "toxic" arguments with people I know in the party all the time, but it's not actually serious because I know the person I'm flaming. I once told my healer, "I WILL EAT YOUR F***ING BABIES!" in chat because she gave me crap for pulling big (which she had actually requested in FC chat). Without context, our party probably thought that I was a total asshole. Meanwhile, my healer was laughing in FC chat and said "that should get me my last few comms" for her achievement. I called her a b****, but it was all in good fun. Nothing serious, yet someone, somewhere, probably thought it was toxic chat.

For all you know, that "All in good fun" chat that you were casually throwing around is part of what they saw which only added to the reasons why they took it away. But hey maybe not...who knows.

In this thread alone there are plenty of new PvPers who disapprove of it. It's not even about players stepping out of line and harassing others, it's about SE taking the easy way out; and if anyone honestly believes that the removal of chat punishes the players that actually deserve to be banned, you're kidding yourself - the players that are actually at a disadvantage are new players who want to improve and veterans who want to help new players improve. It's a no-win situation for pretty much everyone except oversensitive ignoramuses and toxic toerags <- I do hope that's an insult I'm allowed to use here. ;^)

What's better: rude help or silence? Let me answer for you, it's rude help. Would it be nice if it wasn't rude? Yes, but even if it is, it's better to have people be able to say "Hey, actually play the game please" than to have to sit there and take it.

Think, you're about to hold a 6 month pvp event to introduce ppl to it. You have content used mostly not for strategy. Across all data centers. Excluding the better part of the pvpers. Then you get this massive influx of ppl who dont know how to pvp. What do you think is gonna happen? Everyone will play nice? Frontline you have 72 ppl. Feast doesnt give annonimity however. Considering the input theyd have no choice but to remove it and find an alternative method. Because otherwise that's just bad. Way worse than just chat ban. from one piece of content. No reason to put it back MUCH less with 4.0 coming. Please continue tho. Im sure some of you will come up with a valid idea instead of just complaining about it.

If this is your validation for instituting chat ban in pvp it's an unbelievably senseless one lol. You want a valid suggestion? Um last I checked the 8 v 8 feast also gave credit towards the mount so why not just eliminate chat in there so the players that ultimately just want the mount, don't care about learning how to pvp, and will ultimately stop pvp'ing again once they get their mount can do so completely oblivious as to their performance like you want and leave the chat in the ranked where it's still needed.

Let me answer that for you if those are the two options silence. If you can't be as non abusive as pick up medal player 1. Then don't chat, plain and simple. If you need to do it more then three times stop it. No one needs you to spam your angry sound macro. They are not going to do it after three they aren't going to do it at ten. All you are doing is reinforcing why chat was removed.

This community is funny lets recap. 1) Please don't remove chat. I need it to enhance game play, sounds fair.
2) People can adjust chat themselves, still fair.
3) They don't do what I want when I tell them "Torch the b*st*rds to the ground". Hmm not as fair as point 1 and 2.

This is the truth of it, and let the metrics not be mistaken: The Feast and PvP are not suddenly so much more active due to the restriction. They're active purely because it's part of a special event for once (and at least until the Gold Saucer versions are made available), but it's chaotic and arguably less inviting to newer players now due to that restriction.

LOL ppl doing pvp now cuz of the garo event , most of them don't even know there was a chat before xD, some of them even come here to ask how is possible that a pvp mode doesnt have chat o.o!
