Why is game entitlement a thing and people think they deserve every item in the game?

I don't mind people paying for clears. Maybe cause I see it from a different perspective. I see it as if your group is skilled enough to carry someone through a raid, they should be able to sell a carry if someones willing to pay. They aren't scamming anyone or anything. They are earning a reward for something they achieved.

Can you imagine being someone like that? Someone rides by on a trial mount:

"Oh, God, did they clear that legit? How can I know? HOW CAN I KNOW?! WHY DO I CARE?!"

What if they were one of THOSE people??? They joined a farm party, tanked the floor for the entire fight and got the birb that dropped?

I don't mind those who pay-for-content. I have linkshells that ask for selling help every now and then. A lot of times it can be a provider that just plays casually but makes a lot gil through crafts/gather but still like to get content/mounts/etc.

Look at it from the seller side. Raiders and end-game FCs need lots of gil to prepare for the next raid cycle. Being able to craft top-tier food, potions, and HQ patch-day crafted gear isn't cheap. Then lots of broken materia funding. As crafted gear is absolutely necessary for early progression. Whereas those who don't raid mid or hardcore just wait out their gear upgrades week-by-week through Alexander normal items and tomes. Full-crafted allows faster server progression.

I dont care what other people have, what Im talkin about is more so the access to rewards without putting in effort as more skilled players. There are plenty of rewards for players who dont want to participate in different content, I mention, beast tribes, mog station, gold saucer. Why is this not enough, its just simply not enough to get items you can earn for some players it seems, you have to go do stuff that other players that out preform in the game do and get the same stuff that they do its just not right to me.

There should be a one time clear for any content to get the rewards, and like I said buying a clear should be agaisnt the rules. Are if you buy content then you have a reward and thats the story and the cut scene minimum effort gets minimum rewards is basically what Im talkin about. The reward is the story itself for those who want to coast through said content if you pay for a run then your reward is not having to watch that content on youtube thats the reward. Other than that the actual items shouldn't be given to you until you have a legit clear of the content. Because like I said if the only requirement was to just pay for the game then , some players pay more than others some players give more to the game than others so under this logic then those whom pay more deserve more. What you dont pay for extra retainers are to have characters on more than one server and you never buy from mog station well then you deserve less than I do because if we going buy just paying a sub I pay more than others so therefore I deserve more.

In the same vein, what if they were in a progression party and they died and tanked the floor but their party cleared by some miracle and they got the [insert special rare drop here]? Do they still deserve it? New raids/EX primal rule: If you die during the fight you can't roll on loot! /sillycommentalert

I get the feeling you don't realize the amount of people that would leave, if the game just became so restrictive it only catered to the top 15%. Lol.

The game doesn't need to be more restrictive and gate content.

What someone only pays the flat fee I pay for retainers and alts so I deserve more than them. If you use the I pay my sub logic then we can go into who pays more than others , and those people could say they deserve more than people that just pay the bare minimum price.

Well you do get more, by buying more retainers you get more inventory space then someone that does not, as for alts anyone that uses the standard account sub which I think most do can have multiple alts.

I have actually ran shiva extreme got the mount unsync and went back until I could got a party that didnt wipe the whole fight and I was alive and standing at the end. So nope thats not me I didnt deserve that mount imo until I cleared the content legit.

I gladly will pass on items if Im even dead at the end of a fight (I dont expect others to do this and this isnt what my thread is about), its called earn if I was just in the way and didnt contribute then I better not click my finger on the need button. I will not and dont plan to ever take a mount I didnt earn gear for glamour when its old is one thing but the ultimate reward from said content is a different story. So no If I didnt earn it , I would never try to get the item like I mention before I will prob never be in a titan extreme party to get a sync clear so I have accepted as a player that the mount you get from having all horses is out of reach for me. Its plenty of other mounts in the game Im ok with not having that one or the titan mount. Its called acceptance and that even in a video game not wanting handouts.

By your logic in this thread, you don't even deserve that mount. I ran every single extreme back in the day, and earned every single mount before anything was nerfed. I still wouldn't say that I deserve the mounts over you, because you waited for it to be nerfed.

I'm having trouble figuring out whether you're even being serious anymore.
