to ban chat? my comment was to point out it is hypercritical to say it is good in pvp and only in pvp, ban all chat is what i am hearing from people saying this is a good thing. Why the double standard?

Why don't you get it? The tools that are used to police other players are all but unusable in feast. Could SE put effort into making tools, yes. Do they half @55 a lot of stuff 100% yes. Will they make tools to police players better and add chat back who knows.

I admire your sense of personal accountability.Sadly, that is a quality that a lot of players lack. It's all too common to see people just gun their way forwards without any regard to their role, responsibilities, or teammates. It's a mentality that I think has been bred into the current generation of gamers by instant gratification games which value personal stats (such as Kill : Death) over your actual result/win rate, and quite frankly, it shows in how they play.

I may poke at people with ruin II while they are mounted but I run back out right away. I do not go charging in a base feeding the other team and putting other teammates in danger particularly me, because I went in heal him deeper then I should have, hoping he would back off, they didn't and I had to let them die. They got defensive because i asked and "called them out" and my reply to that is that I am trying to do my best to help the team win, while I see people that do not care, you think that is not going to cause conflict and arguments when people act like that?

SE also does not see you can be toxic though actions too, like this situation. In feast it may be though feeding or spamming "good job" when someone dies, and or losing. NO AMOUNT of censorship will block toxic play.

Look, the OP pays money to play like everyone else. He or she expect, and rightly so, to be able to enjoy all facets of the game without undue harassment from others. No one has to put up with toxicity or "take it like a man" as you put it.

meanwhile, my wife is being called a bitch and told to dominate people sexually when she tries to be helpful and explain seal rock as being similar to domination from call of duty. I hope Yoshida enforces more restrictions until you get sick of being punished and learn to behave. (and by "You" i dont mean everyone. I mean the people with the tough-it-up-buttercup attitudes and the belief that its ok to be a prick all they want towards others)
I dont care about the chat at all because even in seal rock it rarely proves useful. I keep seeing ASCII art of pigs with overly large penises spammed across shout. This community doesnt deserve a chat until it changes or the FFXIV team learns some way of enforcing players to be decent human beings towards their fellow players.

Sorry didn't realize you wouldn't understand the whole comment of "suck a d*ck" would mean. The reason why we don't have to turn chat off in frontlines is abuse is easy to kick and replace or even win with one less player.

The other point is you keep bringing up other party formats in the game. Those modes have downtime and ability to boot someone, that feels the need to spend five minutes telling people they need to do various sexual acts. Feast does not work that way. I would prefer that SE would post names and brand people with irremovable titles that don't use chat properly. People have no fear of how they act and it feels like half the people think it is right,acceptable,merited (pick a word).

2. You do realize she is trying to explain and command a entire possible 72man frontlines which can be more difficult to manage.
3. If you don't "tough it up buttercup" and ignore the negative/the immature. you aren't going to get very far.

1: I just tried pvp for the first time with 3.5 im not ready to be rated nor do i have the friends to try practicing as i just returned not too long ago. I practice in 8v8 and what does it matter? Oh you think your opinion matters more because youre 4v4 player? Please allow my to kneel before you and bathe in your awe and glory. (If i had a nickle for ever time some FFXIV player said "Oh look,...." in these forums.)

4: I care about playing pvp. I care about playing with my wife and not seeing her verbally abused by or sexually harassed by others. I do not care if the chat is removed as it does not effect my ability or my teams chance of victory. If they dont bring it back i wont feel a single bit of dissapointment, but i do care that people are bashing my wife and spamming stupid ASCII memes, only to be punished for it, and then turn around and act like jerks on the forums by bashing and belittling the opinions of others in hopes that yoshida will magically decide being a jerk to somebody is ok and regret punishing them. If you want your silly chat back. You know what to do. BEHAVE. Acting like this is only reinforcing his decision.
5:Just lol..and ..I post not just for my wife, but for eveyone. Myself included, that is sick of hearing this bs talk of "deal with it cause its just how life is" when it is not. I have never been treated the way that i have in this community, in any real life location in the world and not been able to do something about it. Especially when the answer to everyones problems is to just be nice. Is that so freaking hard?? It would reinstate the chat, and possibly even bring in more people to play both pvp and pve. You know what? Im going to apologize. You might be right. I might seem confrontational. I probably am. I feel too passionately. Its a habit i have. And quite frankly im pissy. I cant stand the thought of somebody treating my wife that way. If it were in person I would have entered into a physical fight with them. Most men who live where I do would. Where I come from, you dont let people talk to your girl like that. I just sincerely want this toxic crap to stop and people to be moderated. Idk if youve seen it but ive said before "I hope we get chat back", but i also hope that it doesnt include the community getting away with all of this stupidity. Theres a reason why yoshida took the chat and im willing to bet its because he thought it was too toxic. So then if thats true, like i said. It only takes being nice to get the chat back. I guess we're just different. Majority of people would never say those types of things in person, which is why they say them online. The fact you even got remotely upset about it is entertaining to them. I mean it's all pretend, there is legitmately nothing more they could do other than provoke you. After the match, your wife could report such behavior, requeue and continue on playing. I can guarantee by the time she ever came across them again, they'd have forgotten all about her.

It's PvP, you will find this behavior in any game with it. It's a mode where people get enjoyment from killing eachother. There are far darker elements in this game just in the MSQ alone
