Look, the OP pays money to play like everyone else. He or she expect, and rightly so, to be able to enjoy all facets of the game without undue harassment from others. No one has to put up with toxicity or "take it like a man" as you put it.

"Take it like a man," how trite.

How about you emotionally stunted juveniles learn some self restraint and not blast hate when a match doesn't go your way?

Still, censoring the chat is wrong and doesn't help new players. This will kill PVP faster than before.

Also, OP post is based on hate to other players, so it's not really a good example about how to censor the chat or not.
We shouldn't encourage a general censorship just because few players are toxic.

So, Please tell me how chat banned has benefited you in learning the feast 4v4. oh wait. you can't say anything to ask for help. Nor have I never seen you ever within this season. If you are going to go and insult people that are "emotionally stunted juveniles" you should at least play the game mode that these "emotionally stunted juveniles" came from.

you guys:"boo hoo my chats gone. what will i do?"

meanwhile, my wife is being called a bitch and told to dominate people sexually when she tries to be helpful and explain seal rock as being similar to domination from call of duty. I hope Yoshida enforces more restrictions until you get sick of being punished and learn to behave. (and by "You" i dont mean everyone. I mean the people with the tough-it-up-buttercup attitudes and the belief that its ok to be a prick all they want towards others)
I dont care about the chat at all because even in seal rock it rarely proves useful. I keep seeing ASCII art of pigs with overly large penises spammed across shout. This community doesnt deserve a chat until it changes or the FFXIV team learns some way of enforcing players to be decent human beings towards their fellow players.

    2. You do realize she is trying to explain and command a entire possible 72man frontlines which can be more difficult to manage.
    3. If you don't "tough it up buttercup" and ignore the negative/the immature. you aren't going to get very far.
    4. If you don't care about chat or this ban at all, why are you even adding your 2 cents opinion when you say the community doesn't deserve a chat. make up your mind. It's either you care or not.
    5. your Frontlines experience doesnt matter as if that is something you can compare to with feast. (also, you shouldn't be the one posting for your wife.)

1: I just tried pvp for the first time with 3.5 im not ready to be rated nor do i have the friends to try practicing as i just returned not too long ago. I practice in 8v8 and what does it matter? Oh you think your opinion matters more because youre 4v4 player? Please allow my to kneel before you and bathe in your awe and glory. (If i had a nickle for ever time some FFXIV player said "Oh look,...." in these forums.)
2:she was not talking to a hole 72 man, she was replying to one person who happened to use shout.
3:because people get away with sexual harassment and anything else they feel like anywhere else in the world?
4: I care about playing pvp. I care about playing with my wife and not seeing her verbally abused by or sexually harassed by others. I do not care if the chat is removed as it does not effect my ability or my teams chance of victory. If they dont bring it back i wont feel a single bit of dissapointment, but i do care that people are bashing my wife and spamming stupid ASCII memes, only to be punished for it, and then turn around and act like jerks on the forums by bashing and belittling the opinions of others in hopes that yoshida will magically decide being a jerk to somebody is ok and regret punishing them. If you want your silly chat back. You know what to do. BEHAVE. Acting like this is only reinforcing his decision.
5:Just lol..and ..I post not just for my wife, but for eveyone. Myself included, that is sick of hearing this bs talk of "deal with it cause its just how life is" when it is not. I have never been treated the way that i have in this community, in any real life location in the world and not been able to do something about it. Especially when the answer to everyones problems is to just be nice. Is that so freaking hard?? It would reinstate the chat, and possibly even bring in more people to play both pvp and pve. This game needs disciplinary moderators.

1.because multiple people have been through 3 SEASONS of experience of the environment and community and know how people react. there are never any toxic players because by the time you hit within a certain rank. that type of attitude is non-existent almost. That fact that you said you just started pvping in 3.5, you have no knowledge of what everyone has been going through within the feast but you apparently agree with the chat ban because of your wife's experience in frontlines. So in way, your post is just funny because you never went through anything that is even close to being "toxic" in PvP
2.so one person acts immature and negative. and you judge the ENTIRE community based upon one person. that's really really "smart" of you.
3.What is blacklist. even better, if they aren't even in your server why should you care.

(Can you stop using your wife frontline experience to justify a chat ban on feast)

REALLY????!! Oh gee news flash, someone toxic in shout, that always happens, should we ban shout?

The other point is you keep bringing up other party formats in the game. Those modes have downtime and ability to boot someone, that feels the need to spend five minutes telling people they need to do various sexual acts. Feast does not work that way. I would prefer that SE would post names and brand people with irremovable titles that don't use chat properly. People have no fear of how they act and it feels like half the people think it is right, acceptable, merited (pick a word).
It is rare to see a kick passed in the name of "lets get this done" Esp when it is a 4 person PvE and the person is a tank.

Due to it being impossible to boot people while loot is up or for a certain amount of time after combat has passed, it's also nearly impossible to kick someone in a 24-man raid, at least without asking the entire alliance to stop and wait a few minutes (at which point it becomes apparent you're going to kick someone in your party, which can lead to hostility and flaming). We had a SMN yesterday in Dun Scaith deliberately move into AOEs and kept letting raise time out because he just wanted to afk for a loot, and yet we were unable to do anything about him without consulting in alliance chat. As soon as we did, he called us "elitist" and that he shouldn't be punished for being new to the instance, and that it wasn't his fault he was dying (he said he "lagged" when we asked why he let raises time out instead of accepting them).

Go figure, we get to the end and he doesn't even get the achievement for first-time clear.

I think a reasonable solution to this toxicity in PVE is to instantly kick someone from an instance if they die 3 or more times to avoidable mechanics. How does that sound, everyone?
