I disagree, we'll still need it, we will all be N°1In spirit of the thread, I must completely agree that the change is a good one whilst also suggesting that to prevent further trolling in Feast, players should not be allowed to move their character at all so they are also unable to willingly feed.
Every match can be a tie and everyone will be at the same level. No one is better than the other and no one is higher ranked than someone else. It works in our favour since people can't tell you you're any better or worse than they are, we'd all be the same.
The perfect solution - so our next discussion can be about what's going to take the place of the Feast ranking board since we'll no longer need it.here come the epic rewards for being N°1
All of this. There is nothing more to add.Yes, we've all had those matches where players constantly keep on typing instead of fighting but they are few and far between.
Without Feast chat, we cannot co-ordinate attacks, we cannot even give a simple detail that can end up winning the match; every Feast match is different, no matter how many phrases Square puts into it, there will still be frequent moments where you think "I wish I could say this".
The Feast is not better without chat, the Feast without chat is a free-for-all with no strategy.
Lol, the post i was replying too got removed, it is why I did not quote it because I did not want my post to be removed for quoting it.Honestly, most of that is just good advice if you follow it up, which some members of the community would.
"Your gear is bad, you should have i150HQ+ stuff and use these sub attributes if you want to min/max a bit"
"Don't LoS"
"Purify me if you see a status effect [Sleep, full swing]"
"Use purify on yourself if you see full swing"
*Explains how stack works at start of match*
"Don't use b4b if 3 people are on you"
You took good advice and just construed it into trolling to prove your point. The exact meaning behind the quotes you said are the reason why we need chat, not every person says them the way you quoted. I'm personally harsh with veterans that should know better, but nice to new players.
I'm sure some people probably hear them negatively way more often though. Some people treat feast like a solo game, and that's exactly the same group of people like this change. Now these players can go blindly into battle and treat your teammates like trashy AI, just like these players who don't care always have. With the added bonus that they can now be ignorant of the frustration that they are causing. I think any disrespectful player not going into the match with a winning attitude, not doing their absolute best, and not playing with their teammates to the fullest probably loves this change.
Edit: the post I was replying to got removed.... This is awkward...
My experience is more toxic DF PvE then PvP, should we remove chat from all DF??of course they're citing their personal experiences, what else would they do? why would you expect them to tolerate being treated poorly, regardless of how infrequently it happens? why should they care about preserving a 'community' when their only interactions with that community are wildly negative?
this situation was made for one reason, lazy in attacking the roots of the problem.
I completely agree with you here. I am 100% capable of dealing with trash-talking as I am an adult and if someone wants to taunt me from behind a computer screen then hey, whatever helps them sleep at night. Just as you said, I too really would like feedback from my party, negative or positive, because that's how I will improve my performance. However; now I am stuck waiting for replies on a thread here in the PvP section of the forum on tips on how to be better at this or that.I just started getting into PVP, and not having the option to chat is awful.
I don't know if I'm doing good or bad, I don't know what people want me to do.
I don't care if people talk trash about me when I suck, I need live feedback on my performance. I'm an adult, I can deal with it.
Take your macho trash elsewhere.OP this is not your diary. Looking at your achievements somebody probably got sick of carrying you, told you you were doing something wrong in probably not the nicest way they could've done and instead of taking it on your chin like a man, you cried toxicity and now you're back to do the exact same thing what you're doing before except theres nobody to reprimand you for your actions.
I suck at PVE, I love dpsing and staying in deliverance the whole time. I wish someone would mute the pve chat so I can just do what and even though it's completely wrong I'd rather stick my head in the dirt like an ostrich. Kinda like what SE has done, rather than approach the problem as a whole and take some time in effort it's carpet punishment for everyone.
So no I don't agree with you.
Look, the OP pays money to play like everyone else. He or she expect, and rightly so, to be able to enjoy all facets of the game without undue harassment from others. No one has to put up with toxicity or "take it like a man" as you put it.
"Take it like a man," how trite.
How about you emotionally stunted juveniles learn some self restraint and not blast hate when a match doesn't go your way?
It's not an ideal fix. They need ramp up reporting and punishing toxic players and allow the rest of us the freedom to chat.I completely agree with you here. I am 100% capable of dealing with trash-talking as I am an adult and if someone wants to taunt me from behind a computer screen then hey, whatever helps them sleep at night. Disabling chat was a mistake, and I'm almost sure SE knew before it was introduced. Because it's very obvious. If I am wrong, however, ........THEN WE ARE IN BIG TROUBLE! .
I'd like to think they're just trying it out to see how people feel towards it, and to see if people like their new PVP macros feature. which are obviously not great!
with the new PVP achievements to have more people queue for feast to actually receive feedback about it!
I'm just glad they chose this time to do it, and not preseason 4 nor season 4 launch,
since before patch 3.5, feast was almost dead anyway.
I have big giant hopes they're gonna enable chat next patch! ♥
if they're not, then I expect a lot of very good players quitting the feast, or maybe the game![]()
Still, censoring the chat is wrong and doesn't help new players. This will kill PVP faster than before.Look, the OP pays money to play like everyone else. He or she expect, and rightly so, to be able to enjoy all facets of the game without undue harassment from others. No one has to put up with toxicity or "take it like a man" as you put it.

Also, OP post is based on hate to other players, so it's not really a good example about how to censor the chat or not.
We shouldn't encourage a general censorship just because few players are toxic.

I actually prefer the new feature the feast is so much more enjoyable now and even at higher tiers I still found toxicity. Previous to this I found it a stressful experience and now I find it an enjoyable experience after work.
