In FFXI, where our current races originated from, The burly race (Galka) was an all male race, while the cat people (Mithra) was an all female race.
When they were brought here, the females were added to the burly one, and males were added to the cat people. They didn't want to limit player choice when creating a character, and the gender-locking race thing is an outdated and tired concept anyway.
But that's the same reason why there won't be gender-locking jobs. It limits player choice with an outdated concept.
That's what I meant by "We will never have gender locked jobs for the same reason we have female Roes & male Miqotes."

Because 1.0 was developed by the same producer, director and other main staffers of ffxi, who probably thought the outdated concept was a good idea, like the other outdated concepts they implemented in the game.
So I guess I have to be politically correct and point out the obvious.
Yoshi-P didn't want to limit player choice when he rebooted the game, the game we're playing now.
