Something else to consider on the Dancer theory is that, if it is indeed a Job, then it has been designed for Combat, as all Jobs hold that aspect. Whether she heals, tanks, or DPS's, a Dancer as a Job would be in combat. You're not going to be doing the Chicken Dance in the middle of a fight, you're going to be Dancing in a manner that allows you to dodge enemy moves, strike enemy weak points, and close or widen the gap between you and your target. In short, Dancer -should- look a lot like Monk.

Not to the point where they're virtually identical to Monk in look and feel. They aren't going to add a new job that fights identically to a Monk (except with some dances thrown in).

No, the mistake was having SCH/SMN share Arcanist as a base class. It lets you level 2 jobs at once. That is the big mistake. Its why MNK/DNC wouldn't share Pugilist, for example.
