Monks are a SPECIFIC Job in this game, and the woman in red fights like one. Its easy to believe she is a Monk instead of a new Job who's fighting style is extremely similar to Monk.

With 4.0 cross class system will change!
They already said it will focus more on the role and not on the job, so its possible we can choose from all meele skills as "meele DPS" and so on...

Still, we will have Unique Job Skills too - my guess is because of how each job is getting their stacks and power ups (just think on how diablo3 does it)
They will not begin from scratch, so i think it is some sort of buff management or chain system to make some skills "better" for your job than others...

No. That is not happening. They are moving must have skills for various roles into Role based skill sets.

"Must have" skills such as Provoke and Cleric Stance will be part of the Tank and Healer Role Additional skill lists respectively. You will not be required to level Gladiator or Conjurer to unlock them.

I see a lot of people speculating based on the woman in the trailer, discussing if she is a DNC or a MNK. That woman obvipusly isn't Uda, she doesn't have the tattoos in her neck, which wasn't forgotten by SE because in ARR opening you see her tattoo.

Being her sister, an Ala Mhigan and being parte of the resistance, she probably was trained with martial arts like Yda, but why couldn't she develop a love and interest in Dancing, mixing martial arts (offensive stance) with dancing moves/posture (buff/debuff/healing stance)?

So I'm hoping, and want só bad, SE is bringing DNC. Come to papa!

I hope so. If they don't they'll miss the perfect chance to introduce DNC with a really cool backstory ; ; and yeah, the lack of tattoo speaks for itself really.

Sorry to disappoint, watch the trailer carefully and compare her movements to MNK attacks, there are literally MNK animations woven into her "dance". (No DNC isnt branching from PGL).

While I'm fine with it being her sister, it also isn't "obviously" her either because of the lack of neck tattoo's. Including them in the trailer would have been a massive give away to 3.5 and/or 4.0. Even the 3.5 art is oddly missing the neck tattoo's of Yda. Also in the Heavensward teaser trailer every dragon was Hreasvalger. There's not certain until 3.5 or 3.55 which Yoshi said we'll be meeting that character.

Also MNK is heavily based on the Chinese systems of Martial Arts which are known for fluid and dance-like movements. All I see honestly is a very performance based opening to a Baguazhang form, not actual dancing. I'm all for dancer but if they do it I'd personally like it to be a bit more "less Monk" than what the woman was doing.

Exactly. I've said the same thing in a previous thread a while back when the Stormblood trailer was first released. And it still baffles me as to how people can assume that a CGI cutscene of a Monk NPC displaying its elegant martial arts is confused as a Dancer.

I take it you have never been around different types of dancers before? I do this for a living for TV and movies, I have been trained in many different ways to dance and dancing how she does in the opening is very common. I've been in music videos and done many things where they ask me to dance and fight like that. At many calls we are expected to perform aerials like that mixed in with fighting techniques. I do not call myself a monk by any means lol.

No, I have not personally been around different types of dancers before. I'm also sure you are a very talented dancer. But, I don't see how any of those are relevant. Do you mean to say that only dancers can tell when someone is dancing? Because, I can use my perception and observation to interpret when I see something that could be indicated as a dance. Can I classify and define what each and every jig, salsa, mamba, rumba, and pow wow is? No, probably not. But if I were to see someone doing anything similar to those, my brain would click and say, (aha) they are dancing. I did not get that from the Stormblood trialer.
