Obviously I'm no DEV, but if it were me, I would make it a pet class with a few different like the other pet classes. I would make BLU a tank or dps, whip, and force the lore as to be like some real martial traditions where they take the forms of beasts in their fighting styles to account for non-pet skills (a la Ruin), saying they learn to fight like the beasts that they spend so much time with. Make his Lv-50 skill merge with his pets for 10 secs or so, each one offering different bonuses, more agro, higher crit, and so on.

That would take a popular job that would be otherwise to unfocused for FFXIV (Blue Mage), and add some bits and pieces from another lesser but still popular job that is also to nitch (Beastmanster), and an even lesser job that would have no prayer of getting in (Morpher).

3 nitch classes into a solid fun job. I see the same thing happening for things in the future like Geomancer or Sage for example. They already did it with Bard (Ranger+Bard), Ninja (Ninja+Thief+Assassin) and Astrologian (Time Mage+Trickster), and from the looks of it Red Mage (Red Mage+Rune Fencer) as well.

Personally I'd like that. I'd just hope the morphing is a bit like a stance; active until turned off. A cooldown morph would be lame unless it was some kind of improved version.

This is a theory i do not have much faith in. I only put it forth due to the amount of coincidences i feel exist between the the hint, series and crossover event.

This is Emma Guzman she is an Alchemist in a anime show called Honoo No Kokuin also known as Garo.

(fyi... the strings are not always blue...)

A scene of her using a peculiar weapon.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxKuSn0n6tM

With the Spiderman t-shirt, spider webber comments, and Garo crossover, i feel that there is a very small (microscopic) chance that a version of Alchemist and or Exorcist (Chemist having been a combat class before in the FFT series, "Return to Ivalice") may be something to consider.

While it was stated that a focus was being placed on more traditional aspects of past FF jobs, i feel that may have been mostly in reference to Red Mage and as such not wholly encompassing their design concept for all 4.0 job implementation.

Emma fights with her Spindle Gun(?) by laying fields in which the enemy is ensnared in, once bound the target is then ripped apart by the "strings" of her weapon inflicting major damage. This process is helped along by using charms, and tools to weaken and debuff the enemy before the last snares are placed and subsequently pulled taut.

Again i don't truly think this to be wholly viable, just a few things that seemed to over lap in my head the closer we get StormBlood.

I see a lot of people talking about the Blue vs Red reference, you guys must not forget that Heavenward have 蒼天(blue sky) in it title and Stormblood have 紅蓮 (red lotus) on the title. So most of these references are from the transition from the blue themed Ishgard to the Red themed Ala Mhigo. Maybe we will get blue mage, but I sincerely believe most of these references are for the expansions, not teasing any job.

After looking for the titles in Japanese, now read the new year poem again, and it will be clear (at least for me) that it's talking about leaving Ishgard to Ala Mhigo.

And once again yes, there is a lot of unrelated blue and red references been thrown around. It has people that hope for BLU really going crazy and people who hope is not BLU pointing out is crazy talk.
I personally don't care which class it is I just love the speculation.
I just know that if in the end it's BLU my reaction will be

for all the clever it isn't but it is stuff

Just want to point out that people shouldn't be looking at the girl in the cinematic and saying she is either 100% a Monk or 100% a Dancer. First of all, it's a cinematic that is artistically stylized, but it is also important to remember that certain NPC do not follow the same job restrictions that we do. We have seen examples of characters that use abilities beyond what their job would normally allow. Not everything is black and white.

My honest opinion of the lady in red is that she does portray herself as a Monk, but she might be mixing in some Dancer moves. Alternatively, the opposite could be said, but just based on the what is shown in the footage I would say she is mostly in line with Monk.

Also let us not forget that speculation on Dancer as a possible job addition for Stormblood has more behind it than a cinematic video. It has been previously stated that the Moonfire Faire provided hints towards the upcoming jobs. For that reason, I still believe we are getting three with either all three upfront or with one already in the pipeline to be added in a patch update. But in any case, there is still the matter of the yellow ranger pose being identical to one of the poses used by Dancer in FFXI. I do not believe that is a coincidence.

Lufir - that's fine, I was just explaining my point of view all I meant was to me that is why I see her as a dancer and less of a monk. After all this is all just speculation. Never meant to imply that only a dancer can recognize another one, just meant that is why it popped in my head so quickly. Haha thinking about it though a dancer in xiv would be hilarious if all they did was dance with no action xD

ZioSerpe - if you want to see me on TV, without breaking NDA all I can say is keep an eye out on Bull on CBS. Also lmao love the spiderman pic haha (I dont wanna derail the thread lol)
