There really is something to be said when Artifact armor; which we all replace the moment a new tome is out and scarcely look back, is the holdout for a discussion about lifting glamour restrictions. Seriously people, this does not matter as much as you think it does. As most will just glamour over it in the first place.

Honestly, do you truly like looking like everyone else? Do you not want just a bit more customization? I know many who do; including myself, and artifact gear is the least of our concern, as it should be yours as well—since its uses are limited and mean little to nothing aside from "Look at this thing I got that everyone else can get as well if they level the job."

Personally, I want the restrictions removed so that I stop seeing the same designs everywhere. I want them to open the doors to something unique that consists of multiple pieces from different sets and jobs. As I feel that would be a lot more refreshing than "healer in a swimsuit/ taffeta/ revealing gear" "Tank in High Allagan" and so on.

We've reached a point where creativity is needlessly stifled and everyone looks the same, which is a no-no in any game that allows a player to supposedly customize their player avatar.

Why should you care about AF gear when you're just going to replace and or glamour of it in the first place? It makes little to no sense that this is an actual argument that is going on at all as the vast majority of players probably don't care and would welcome the change with open arms. There is no compromise to be had, just the realization that this argument does not matter in the slightest to anyone outside the people who are getting worked up about it in this thread.
