Its a very fine line to walk when it comes to such things. You really should not de-centivise something like dungeons by adding a vendor... especially when those are so tied to progression (story and times) or in this case... glamours.
I agree with that, and we did have something similar like that in the past. You could collect ancient coins from the lvl 50 dungeons and trade them in for dye able artifact gear and some other things. Wasn't well received and therefore that idea never made it any further than that. Same would be with your vendor and we end up with more currency that we can "collect" and probably ends up in our inventory.

Are you referring to those Antique mail/breeches/etc. things?

Because I think this system is significantly different from the one OP is suggesting

Way too many tokens by now. Unless we get them into a currency system so they stop spamming our inventories I'd say no.

You could also simply not be unlucky.

Statistically, if an item has a chance of 10% to drop, people will on average run the content about 10 times for it. That is, some will run it once, others will run it 20 times and outliers are open ended - Even never seeing the item has a chance of occurring. So it'll probably end up looking like 11,4317XXXX runs on average.

Personally, I typically require at least 20 runs to see the item I want drop and by that time, I'm usually so weary of the grind that I dodge all groups where I'd have competition in the first place, because I lose to competition so often that I don't even bother with the weekly capped Alex loot anymore. My WoD scouting chestpiece took me a total 11 crossed bar counts, so a total of 55 runs. It's one out of 10 possible loot pieces from cerberus. A FC mate of mine calculated the chance for that as sub 1%. And to this day, I have not gotten the hairstyle from PotD in over 300 hoards across 5 characters. I had to get that one from a FC mate.

I say fuck RNG. Without an insurance system, I don't even bother trying anymore >_>

I'm unreasonably biased against yet another tomestone grind. :-/ Too many of them as it is. If anything I'd rather see an exchange along the lines of the antique gear seen in some of the lv 50 dungeons. RNG your way to a certain part of gear and exchange the item for the gear of the job you want.

This is sort of the same as the OP's suggestion... except the "yet another tomestone grind" would at least not take up your inventory space, whereas the tokens DO take inventory slots, at least until you get the amount required for trade ins - and you don't have to compete for tomes :9

EDIT: Make no mistake, I'm not super excited about another type of tomestones... but this is, in the end, sort of the same situation that led to SE introducing another method of obtaining the primal birds from 3.x - sure, 99 tokens might seem a little excessive, but at least I KNOW that at the end of those 99 runs I will for sure be able to get that mount... I'll still be hoping it drops before, of course, but at least I'll have something to show for it anyway, even if it's just trading the tokens in for desynth/GC seals fodder and the assurance that not everything is up to RNG and that I have a fixed number of runs to expect.

For me tomes > tokens because inventory space /cry.

Ah, my thought is 1 token = 1 gear piece like the lv 50 antiquated items and not multiple tokens to 1 gear piece like the Alex raid exchanges. It would be the same thing as getting a gear drop directly but removing the RNG from role specific drops and keeping it for the type of gear slot. So only roll on the drop when you want that item type -> no inventory bloat from tokens because you would immediately exchange the token for what you want.

Doubt this would be implemented. They already try to add more incentives to dungeons by adding triple triad cards to them when they are mostly obsolete, I don't think they are going to remove one of the only other incentives which is the gear.

I'd like to point out a couple of thing regarding this:
    1) This would work quite nicely... if people weren't greedy bastards (myself included). Don't need that arm token? Well, I don't need it NOW, but I might as well just roll on it because I could need it later...
    2) If you disregard point 1, and assume you get your token without any issues... that presents another issue that has been mentioned in this thread before, which is less incentive for people to run specific instances. To counter this, you could either increase the amount of tokens needed (inv bloat), or resort to a method which would not take up inventory slots.

I get where you're coming from, but token hand ins are an issue too... as it is I have enough alex drops and primals tokens taking up space

All in all this probably won't be implemented, but as it's something I'd LIKE to see implemented I'm having fun discussing it anyway :P
