Square-Enix made a greedy corporate decision to release an unfinished game, and instead of accepting this and moving on, their fanbase continues to follow them blindly down the road to further disappointment.

If their concern is even slightly legitimate about rebuilding the Final Fantasy image, they will rebuild this game WITH or WITHOUT your monthly contribution. All you are doing by paying for this incomplete mess is lining the pockets of greedy corporate scum, who honestly care more about a .1% increase in revenue than you as a customer.

It's true that SE released an unfinished game, but I wouldn't call that corporate greed, I would call it incompetence and being out of touch with what players really want. Falling back on trite accusations like "greed" only undermines your own argument and makes you look foolish. If you're going to criticize them, at least do it in a way that's fair and accurate.

I suppose I can understand that, and I apologize for demeaning you earlier, but at the same time I think you could understand why I would feel like someone with poor grammar and spelling would be unqualified to make assertions about the definition of words.

Because we don't know the exact amount of current players and future players after p2p, you point is invalid, ignorant and just plain mean to Rebekah, she just gave a suggestion on how it can be resolved, and her suggestion isn't completely wrong, so let it be.

Btw, you don't have to EXCEED the "original" (whatever that means) paying players, you just have to lose less people than you would if you charged $15.

And no, I won't pay $15 if I could pay $7.50, don't assume that I would, you didn't like people making assumptions about the player-base of FFXIV, so don't make assumptions of people who's willing to pay full price if they were going to pay half.

Yes, it's true that we don't know the exact amount of people who will continue playing after the fee is implemented, but I think it's very foolish to just assume that the number of subscribers would double or triple if the fee were cut in half. A difference of a few dollars wouldn't matter to most of the people who were interested in playing the game. It might matter to a few people, but only a few -- certainly not enough to outweigh the profits that charging full price would bring in.

Most people, if they're willing to pay for the game at all, would pay anything up to the regular subscription price for an MMO. Those who don't feel like this game is worth paying for at the regular price likely wouldn't think it was worth paying for at a reduced price, either, and so a reduced price wouldn't work as an incentive.
