Do like what RuneScape does. If you go into a PvP area, any glamours (or whatever they're called in that game) are removed temporarily. Restored automatically when you leave. Just like with Glamour-Egi.
White Mage ~ Scholar ~ PaladinBoi if you got kicked for the same thing in over 20 duties I strongly suggest you think hard on whatever the hell it is you're doing
As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.
That and it even says "Dark Knight" "Ninja" or whatever your class is over your head, so your not going to surprise anyone and I don't think I have ever been fighting an opponent and thought "Wow, they look amazing"

My money would be them going the Nin route. Int as a main stat so they share accessories with Blm/Smn and separate "of fencing" or something pieces that stylistically fit the job more than the heavy robes of BLM/SMN i.e. Nin switching up whether it shares designs with Mnk or Brd. Rdm may also need a boosted Def stat (higher than caster/lower than melee) since it may have to deal with animation locking and being in melee range.
It really just comes down to how SE envisions the class looking.

so they would basically roll on str gear then....not gonna happen.
it's a caster job, why would it use dex??
mages need to be in melee range for raid mechanics (stacking) so they should get def boost then? not gonna happen. My money would be them going the Nin route. there's no danger in being in melee range unless you're tanking, and RDM isn't tank, so they don't need def boost.
by that logic dragoons should have the same def as tanks, because jump locks.
if you die because of animation lock, it's your own fault.
hopefully it means they will make some caster gear that don't follow the lame and boring robe+pointy hat theme.
since they are lazy they'll probably just let you use glamour instead.

It might use INT gear but I don't think it's going to be the same as BLM/SMN because as a RDM you're often going into melee range to do your combos and stuff, so I think RDM will have more VIT on it's gear compared to the default caster ones. So probably something like NIN, using INT as a main stat so you can use BLM/SMN accessories but having it's own personal gear even though the three jobs benefit from the same status.
Its either going to be a DoM class with its own gearset (so no sharing with BLM and SMN) or DoW and shares same gearset as BRD and Machinist. Personaly, I think it should be a DoM class and it should have its own gearset like Ninja, Dragoon and Monk.

Melee jobs already do have a higher Def stat because they are more likely to get hit by physical attacks while casters have a higher Mdef and lower defense because they are more likely to be targeted by ranged magic attacks. Drgs already have a higher def than the other melee classes. And by no mangling of logic would Drg ever need as much def as a tank. The name of the game isn't "Do not get hit". Yes, SE expects you to dodge things. However, you aren't meant to be shredded to bits after 1 hit.so they would basically roll on str gear then....not gonna happen.

Just disable glamour in PvP I guess, or give a setting to display everyone in the AF1/AF2 ect. gear for pvp.
edit: On the top of that you always see about the players what job they are, so this is a very VERY silly argument against it.
The only real argument against finally removing the restriction I see is $$$. Doing it like the korea and china version and selling unrestricted AF (for now its crafter and gatherer) gear on the shop. Which would suck a lot.

Sorry, Yoshi-P and SE are being completely hush on what gear Red Mage will use. This is similar to what they did before Rogue/Ninja was released.
Not necessarily. Jobs are assigned gear based on Aesthetics not main stats. This is why Rogue/Ninja uses the Rogue Aesthetics instead of Ranged (Dex), and why Lancer/Dragoon uses Maille Aesthetics and Pugilist/Monk uses Melee Aesthetics even though they are both Str based.
