I'm not against the jump potions. Will i buy one? No. But if new players want one, then go for it. Doesn't bother me if we get boosted players, as long as they listen and behave i don't care. You get "bad" players anyway to be honest. It's the luck of the draw with random grouping.

Yep and does this mean I can boost to 60 Samurai? I would love this so I don't waste my time leveling.

Not really since you don't take the levels outside. Also, they are not instant, you still have to go through all the levels and get your skills according to the levels.

Also, that was not the point, the point is that you can get your tomes without having to use DF simply by running PotD floors.

If it's anything like the Chinese job jump potions, wasn't the DRK, AST and MCH potions not available upon release of HW?

It is instant if you decide to start a level 1 Class (or Level 30 HW Job) on Floor 51 (instantly level 60, huzzah). Hell, even if you start on Floor 1, you're still levelling up rapidly fast and chances are the party is not going to wait for you to read your tool tips (presuming players read them at all). I've already encountered a BLM who didn't know their basic level 40 rotation at Floor 81-90.

    How?

This is a FF game and you should want to enjoy the story.
Well this is a MMO game and most people play the game for the MMO experience. Dungeons, raiding, crafting, pvp, ect. Yoshi said that this is suppose to be like a theme park, but what theme park makes you sit through hours of videos before getting on rides??
First, let me just put in that this opinion is strictly from someone who this is their second MMO ever played. My first was FFXI, before this game I never heard of Threat / Hate and knew it just as Enmity. Just to show how bad I am with common terms. I played support classes and never truly toughed hard hitting DPS / tanking and took up healing later on so my knowledge and scope of what to do in a MMO was / is very narrow.

While I'm against this I realize it is mostly for my own personal reasons and can understand the benefit of adding it in. So while I'm personally against it, I agree it can't hurt to a certain extent. Remember everything comes with a good and bad, the issue is balancing both of them to the liking of everyone. If you have an answer and see no opposing side to it that adds weight to it, then you're doomed to not understand for the most part. The point is to open your mind to all possibilities and weigh them, accept you're wrong or you're right (myself included. It's 8:15 a.m. I'll be wrong about something IRL in about 20 minutes..I bet you!)

    That being said....

The MSQ all in all do not really get you to learn your job. Though certain parts of the game are unlockable through running from place to place through the story that gives you access to various things that helps out a lot. Around level 20, you've received about everything you need to start learning on your own or with some suggestions from your friends and FC. Around level 20 is where you start to explore other cities / grand companies but also at that time you have guildhests / a few dungeons / class quests / Hall of the Novice. Their only down fall is for the most part they can be ignored mechanic wise. This needs to be toughen up and changed. Though if you try to follow the guidelines they set for you and do it, it helps. I use them a lot when I'm jumping to a new job to test UI in a party setting or rotations in a party setting. Thing is, if I mess up by the time I say to myself "So..this needs to be changed" the instance is over. I can adjust jump back in. Beats learning a flaw in a speed run or in an EX trial.

These are all things that can help you become better. If you take the time to read and use them. We can't patch the players both the ones who play too much and those who play too little. As long as these few things are presented to the players somehow I feel better with the leveling potion. After that it's all about the stubbornness / laziness of the user. Most will charge through "I know better!" ...you may know more or get use to things quicker than others but you still got something to learn, even if you don't think so.

The story, someone made a post in one of the 5000 threads about this and talked about a FC memember who has no idea what's going on but raids with them. Some just don't like the story and do it for reasons I don't agree with. Though just because I don't agree doesn't mean it's wrong. This is a story based game, though if you don't care you're here for your own reasons. I can accept that this is something a few players are like, and for them these are the ones who want to get to the end quicker.

So in the end, I understand the need for it but do not personally agree with it and say give it to them. On the flip-side. These new people need to know they're open more to being put down or yelled at.

Though, those who skip and want to watch the story should be able to do so in their room. Maybe put in something that allows you to play multiple quests at once so if you are eating / don't want to play can relax and watch stuff happen.

I've gotten just as many bad players in Palace as I have in DF. There is really no difference except people can hide behind "I'm learning this class".

I agree that the language used is moving forward. The Cash Shop was the same way.

I hope google translate is butchering Yoshi's post, because it sounds like jump potions on the cash shop, but split into story jump and level jump so you have to buy 2! That can't be right can it?

That is how the Chinese jump potion works, some posted a screen of the Chinese cash shop like a month ago since they wanted to see an example.

If it stays consistent with the Chinese version of jump potions, you get a MSQ jump for first timers to skip all MSQ up to the newest release. Level jump will take you to the previous expansions level cap and jump potions will not be available for the new jobs released with expansion.
