This. I dont have the best gear, and ive seen back to back 14k crits on F4 before. So i know we can go higher.
Its always fun to see those high numbers. I hit two consecutive 23k fire IVs in my opener, about a month ago. My gear is better now, but I still have a ways to go. I took hate even through quelling and died straight away, but we still had a laugh about it. I can't imagine what those with bis are hitting
Bard
Pros-
High burst
Lots of CDs to stack or save
Loved for Foes
Repelling shot is actually the shit
Mobility even with cast times
Cons-
Mana slave [When your healers struggle, you suffer]
Mix it up and try different jobs to see what you like playing best. Almost any job can be at the top as long as it's played with skill. All four of the dps on my static vie for top place. It really depends on the fight and how everyone plays. But yeah, like everyone said, aggro =/= top dps. If anything, when a dps rips hate off the tank and they have the tools not to do so, they're not playing their job properly.
Single target: MNK.
AoE: SMN.
Single target and AoE: BLM.
Big burst: MCH, BRD and BLM.
Balanced burst: NIN and DRG.
Low burst: SMN and MNK.
Jobs with big bursts have abilities to lower their enmity generation and must use them before their openers. Even mid fight where their opener is ready again.

they can but surely must not use them... if the tank(s) are aware of the impact they'll be fine. and as a side note... buffed DW every 60 seconds is calling low burst nowadays? (well... yeah i know, i know without stacks smns are worth a shit but that shouldn't be the generally situation. if we talk about that we can talk about messed up rotations at all for any cls)
If your MT wants to hold 1500+ dps in dps stance, yeah they must use them. And if you had a NIN "Shadewalker" is a must.they can but surely must not use them... if the tank(s) are aware of the impact they'll be fine. and as a side note... buffed DW every 60 seconds is calling low burst nowadays? (well... yeah i know, i know without stacks smns are worth a shit but that shouldn't be the generally situation. if we talk about that we can talk about messed up rotations at all for any cls)
When I said SMN has low burst I didn't mean it is shity xD (I apologize if it came out that way).
It is just lower than other jobs when it comes to bursting on single target.
Our SMN usually is top dps after MCH and NIN finish their openers, till the end of the fight he holds his position like a boss.

It's a gray area, SE won't ban you for parsing yourself to improve your gameplay.
It's when you bring it up, telling people that you parse and worst case, telling other people that they're doing poor dps as they can report you for it.
TBH SMN's really bring a lot more DPS, even out of DWT. Thanks to R3 having a 200 potency it should be used out of DWT as SMN's can be flexable with mp.they can but surely must not use them... if the tank(s) are aware of the impact they'll be fine. and as a side note... buffed DW every 60 seconds is calling low burst nowadays? (well... yeah i know, i know without stacks smns are worth a shit but that shouldn't be the generally situation. if we talk about that we can talk about messed up rotations at all for any cls)

I do agree, SMN is a pretty perfect class. Even on mono target it can come really close to a BLM, and on aoe it is godlike. Plus virus, E4E, and res are a very decent stuff to put out on a fight.
But my favorite dps class is SCH, by far. ( hihi)
