Depending where you make the thread if those threads were made into the PvP forum it would look totally different most pvpers dont even come here cause its just about complaining about the game and crying for nerfs.

The thread was in the "Items, Synthesis, and Gathering", as they don't use "General Discussion" as a dump for every thread that already has a proper section, their mods actually move any thread from General Discussion if there's a section for it.

While it's true that most people use 2ch over the JP forum, reading other older threads in different sections gave me the impression that JP players don't oppose things out of spite, unlike the EN forum, this was specially apparent in a quite long thread about the level boost potion, here the main argument was "OMG THIS WILL TURN THIS GAME INTO WOW / IF I HAD TO SUFFER EVERYONE ELSE MUST SUFFER AS WELL" while over there from the get-go people were weighing the pros and cons and how to deal with the cons.

I hate to become one of those people who put the JP in a pedestal, but it's pretty obvious why the devs listen to them more than what they listen to us, take a look at any thread here and you will find people opposing things just for the sake of arguing even if it doesn't affect them negatively, or just out of spite.

Well, in fairness that's mainly because the devs are japanese.

While it's not wrong to think devs check the forums from time to time, that's not their job, they have their own job to do, they have community managers for this and so do we, community managers gather player requests and feedback and deliver them to the devs, the difference being that our feedback has to be translated and there's always a risk of something being lost in translation.

Also a funny thought, many JP think SE only listens to the EN playerbase, while we think they only listen to the JP playerbase.

Not funny, it is very simple, "JP think SE only listens to the EN player" would because:

In NA forum, some ppl will first read JP forum, when a JP Rep. said we will xxx in JP forum,
then these "some ppl" will immediately request "xxx" on NA forum, in this situation,
NA Rep. will be able to respond quickly and moreover,
these requests will come true soon becasue they were actually confirmed before the requests was made on NA forum.

With that said, if you want a reply from the Rep.,
you can go to JP forum look for something you know the Rep. already have the official anwser, then request it on NA forum.

In addition, YoishiP mentioned something like (fraction example) a lot of NA players have requested MORE CASH SHOP,
so we put regional dressing on it, please buy for fun ^^;
Something like above statement coul dbe found in live letter,
and such decision is telling players SE listens to NA players MORE CASh SHOP, plesae understand why we need more cash shop.

Finally for "we think they only listen to the JP playerbase", it is more simple, of course it is true!

You know if it's not a Feast reward, it will be something else. Ya'll are crazy if you think an MMO won't eventually add some time exclusive reward that won't be around after it's original release.

I agree with OP, it kills the minion collectors.

IMO they should not add minions by this way, you can't show them in PvP! what's the point?
The quality limitation just suggest every perfect collecters to quit.
