Sweet Dream set - cash shop - not tradeable
Dream set - 1.0 seasonal crafted gear - tradeable
What SE can do to make future seasonal gear tradeable? Give out mats as rewards and recipe books in the seasonal NPC shop.
Personally, I would've rather SE added a chest in WT that had a really low chance to give a CS item that's tradeable, but that will never happen.
Yup. That's how it worked for the first two Moonfire Faires. Swimsuits were all available on the vendor, including the previous years'.
Then SE decided to double-dip with the cash shop.
They still sell the items you get during seasonal events, at least the Quest rewards, but only for the ones you got anyway. So you can't just buy event gear for events you never did. That was always a cash shop only thing.
I dont mind the not-sellable part that much... however the not-being-able-to-trade part is annoying... I store stuff like large amounts of fireworks and housing items on an alt to bring them out when I need them. Cant do that this time![]()
It's not double-dipping; the reason they offered those items from a vendor is because they were old 1.0 items, and the devs realized it would be unfair to expect people to have obtained them with all the issues and reputation 1.0 had. Once they moved onto ARR events though, everyone is considered to have had a "fair" chance to obtain it legitimately, so if you missed out, you missed out.
Not true. Not all the swimsuits were in 1.0. The striped and summer morning ones were new for the first moonfire event (2013) during ARR. Then on the next year for the 2014 moonfaire there was a vendor that sold the 2013 ARR swimsuits. It's not double-dipping; the reason they offered those items from a vendor is because they were old 1.0 items, and the devs realized it would be unfair to expect people to have obtained them with all the issues and reputation 1.0 had. Yeah, but Moonfire 2013 was literally the first event of ARR, so it still doesn't change my point too much. SE gave people a "window" of several months after ARR during which you could come back and still not miss anything exclusive. Once ARR was established, any events after that window gave items that wouldn't be reobtainable.
Guys you're going off-topic, this is not about gear, if you want to talk about old outfits pick up one of the many threads about it, this is something new that started happening around 2 seasonal events ago.
Until the event Make it Rain all seasonal event earned furniture could be sold in the marketboard a few weeks after seasonal events ended, after Make it Rain they suddenly decided to not make new event furniture sellable, without informing the community, we got a feature taken away from us with absolutely no previous warnings, this coincides with them starting to sell furniture in the cash shop. This is not okay.
For anyone thinking they did this so people wouldn't sell the newly introduced cash shop versions in the market, the cash shop versions aren't sellable by default, so there was no reason to restrict players from selling earned furniture other than wanting to make an extra buck with the cash shop and remove people the option to buy things in-game.
Either they should keep making event furniture sellable in the marketboad, or if they want to give it the outfit treatment then anyone who completed the events should be able to buy untradeable versions of every seasonal furniture from the calamity salvager, just like we can buy outfits.
