What do you think of this? (Making seasonal events not sellable on MB)

They still sell the items you get during seasonal events, at least the Quest rewards, but only for the ones you got anyway. So you can't just buy event gear for events you never did. That was always a cash shop only thing.

Not true. Not all the swimsuits were in 1.0. The striped and summer morning ones were new for the first moonfire event (2013) during ARR. Then on the next year for the 2014 moonfaire there was a vendor that sold the 2013 ARR swimsuits.

Yeah, but Moonfire 2013 was literally the first event of ARR, so it still doesn't change my point too much. SE gave people a "window" of several months after ARR during which you could come back and still not miss anything exclusive. Once ARR was established, any events after that window gave items that wouldn't be reobtainable.

@Alimdia: I agree that selling furniture on the store and making the event furniture in-game not tradeable is a really crappy tactic and not okay.

How much does it really cost for SE to include past seasonal items in game at a special not vendor...why should the items go to the cash shop...??? Money grab??? Kinda really sucks because it's no different than RMT.

Guys you're going off-topic, this is not about gear, if you want to talk about old outfits pick up one of the many threads about it, this is something new that started happening around 2 seasonal events ago.

But the original topic said "seasonal event stuff", and did not specify it excluded outfits.

I'm curious to know the community's opinion of this recent change. It used to be in the beginning of 2.0, seasonal event stuff was sellable on the MB. I joined after the first Christmas holiday (I forget what they call it, star-something) when the dream items could easily be bought/traded/sold and the barding as well.

Honestly, I just think that all seasonal event stuff (everything, including outfits) should be obtainable on the Market Board if someone posts it to sale. All items (including furniture) should be purchasable for gil from the Calamity Salvager if you did the content.

Then if you did the content, you could just buy the item for gil and sell on the marketboard. Those who took part get some gil, those who missed it can still enjoy the items.

All this exclusivity is pretty annoying TBH, and not something I'd expect from a game that markets itself as accessible.

It becomes even worse, in my opinion, when the items are posted on the cash shop - it's now not only not accessible, but it's also emulating a F2P game. If I wanted a F2P game, I wouldn't be paying $15 per month.
