The problem doesn't lie with the difficulty, as i'd love to adapt to that and learn the fights. Like I've said before, I get a rush when the party pulls things off correctly, and I love the feeling of satisfaction when you finally clear difficult content. It took me and my friends probably three weeks to actually beat Titan Extreme (we pugged it.. getting a pug group to position correctly isnt the easiest thing xD) But i had fun every single time, even though we lost/timed out for three weeks.

The reason i stray away from savage, is because I have no way to get a static together to practice it. I work overnight while all my friends don't, so they're all sleeping when I'm free to play. Add that to my random work schedule, and the fact that my fc sortof died on a low population server, I just dont have the resources to get a clear together.

And I'm ok with that. I just want people to stop asking for the things that pose any kind of challenge at all to be nerfed... People whined and complained about Weeping City, but I loved it. (I could literally play void ark with my eyes closed, and we'd be fine. Weeping was a step in the right direction.) People whined and complained about Final Steps of Faith, but I loved it. The difficulty made it FEEL like a final battle. Like all the things we had been working for throughout 3.0 had led us to this one moment.

This is the same thing with Alex. Everything we've done within that giant machine, all the drama with Mide, all the schemes with the goblins, all the time we spent fighting our way through one arm, then the other, slaying goblins and disassembling machines, they all led to this one final showdown.

So please, let it be epic.

We died twice to aggravated assault before we figured it out, when those portals appeared the entire party ran into them the first time because it's pretty obvious when the adds he spawns run into them that you're supposed to follow. From that we figured out that it was one dps per portal. The tethers and the lasers were figured out as soon as we'd seen them once, just back off the boss and drop them around the side.

Why do you expect to be able to go into a fight blind and clear it in one shot? It took us a few pulls and that's perfectly fine. You need to communicate with your party, not just abandon and start from scratch as soon as you can't faceroll it.

I didn't go into the fight expecting an easy clear. I also didn't expect to spend all afternoon and running with 8 or more failed groups before getting a clear. My point was the fight is challenging, it does have mechanics people need to know to clear it, it does have a nice dps check and my sympathy for healers who really have to work at keeping everyone up including themselves. One of the fights actually hit enrage because the dps was too low and people died which didn't help. Wiping City (so named) is also easy once one knows the mechanics but it still takes a group knowing how to perform to clear it. This week there were tons of complaints about getting a clear there as well given all the new players who came back to the game not knowing what to do.

The groups didn't abandon without multiple attempts I might add. I'll have another go at it with my alt to get her cleared. I'll do a clear for another alt tomorrow. I'll have a good sense, and perhaps I was unlucky yesterday, of how the clears go after running it more. I'm not opposed to a challenge. I love A8 and I suspect I'll love this fight when I run it each week for a gear.

It only feels intense now because it 's new and most people aren't at ilvl250 yet. Once people gear up, the fights will be easy, just like every other raid before it.

I main a SCH and the first run of A12 normal was really brutal. i was paired with another SCH and the amount of damage going out made it really tough as we both were doing it for the first time. As I did it more and more though, I got to know at which points to use mitigation and when to anticipate huge damage so it became a lot easier. Of course if the DPS are getting hit by avoidable damage then it becomes super tough. Still, I would prefer to be paired with a WHM or D. AST as a SCH/SCH pairing really requires finesse which is a bit difficult when using DF

How about we make it so you don't need to heal at all! or just make a baby mode.

A12N was undertuned IMO, it was easier than A11N. It also didn't have a tenth of the impact that Bahamut Prime had when it was released. Bahamut Prime actually FELT really powerful unlike Alexander Prime.... But at least all the lazy players can beat him without putting any effort into the game.

Yes i know, i can beat savage mode for no reason if i want a challenge. But for me, it just doesn't feel the same.

There's a few close calls with the time freeze, but it boils down to dodging as per usual.

I like the fight, but it's by no means difficult, especially when people start over-gearing for it.

And what makes it appealing to the lazy? You claim no effort is needed, but if that was the case, then I'd never have to heal and we could just ignore mechanics.

That will be coming in 4.0... cuz of threads like this one. I literally beat alex prime second try using gear from 2 patches ago.... very little effort was needed.
