You do realize we're talking about video games, right? The whole point of a video game is to have fun. Maybe the people who you call "Lazy" don't find the FFXI model to be fun. Conversely, maybe all the FFXI fanboys don't find the FFXIV model to be fun. It's OK to not like a game. And you said it yourself: The devs are going to please the "horde" of filthy unwashed casuals.
