I would love to pvp more for achievements but refuse to wait 50 mins for a pop.
I've been saying that they need to add insentive items to pvp wolf marks for a long time. I would love to pvp as an alternative to earn critical crafting, relic, and pve materia instead of just the glamour it currently offers.
I believe this would be one way to help bring more people to pvp. Relevant items!
Until now the pvp gear is so dull (Also in glamour way). It doesn't have any speciality thanks to the no pvp rank restriction.
Really, I've found that PVP Tome Farm in HW has been practically zilch if compared to 2.x Relic Light phase and tome grinding. It was an observable problem in Slaughter/Secure, but I haven't seen the botting/Afking like that in HW. That's my observation. Really it's pretty hard to ESO farm when that queue takes 90+ minutes just to get a match. 'Tome-Farmers' - now - more or less a label just tossed around for poor play.
Though IMO I think SE should consider moving some Tome rewards (or adding new Tome bonuses) to the Weekly Challenge Log achievements, and not just PVP's; might break the monotony of weekly tome-capping, but off topic.
As for more rewards, could just add more things to spend Wolf Marks on, and wouldn't mind seeing the PVP gear cost normalized a bit (or max bank increased from 20,000 to a higher number).

If a tree falls in a PvP map and no one hears it, does it make a sound?
I think if there was any hope for PvP not being terrible we'd have seen it so years ago; at this point SE should cut their losses from an event that no one cares to do. There's way better PvP games out there I could be playing instead of the PvP mode in FFXIV.
Alternatively if SE decided to put in Ballista I'd be way on board for all of a couple weeks then never do it again![]()

Most MMO pvp is never very much fun to me for a few reasons.
1. Healers always end up overpowered. Until MMO devs realize healing should delay death instead of preventing death (there is a difference) it won't get any better. It's not fun to be standing there wailing on people for 5-10 minutes with no one really dying unless the healer falls asleep because it's all so tedious. I'm going to go ahead and say it, I think PVP would be better without healing.
2. Class balance/role trumps skill. In most cases unless there is a noticeable disparity in gear, certain classes always outshine others or end up being mostly useless.
3. The community. I never see people rage really hard anywhere but in PVP. Yeah I see people get frustrated doing PVE to but never as badly as in PVP content.
Those three reasons are what turned me off most to MMO PVP. If I want really balanced and engaging PVP I'll just play Pong. >_>
Unfortunately that's a PVP norm. You're expected to act like a 10 year old kid who recently learned how to curse, to PVP properly.
A mentor stole my house, slapped me across the face, and raised my ping from 15 to 30. Literally unplayable.

I just want frontline queue times to go down. The current rewards are enough for me to go in (minion, glamours, trying to get mount achievements) but sitting in a 60 min queue isn't something I have time for. I don't want to Feast with PUGs and none of my friends like to pvp.
Aether + Primal Cross data center solo ques for feast would be very nice
