It breaks my heart to see XIV make a new record in this. I will say it again, powerleveling to this extent does not belong in a MMORPG. People need to understand that progression is an important part of a MMORPG and you can't make it possible to skip that if you want to be in that genre.

My point exactly. If you want instant gratification, go play a genre of game that delivers such. Don't destroy the genre that we enjoy.

I dont like FPS and i wreck in fighters, but i also like MMO's but id rather spend most of my time improving my gear and completing content after i hit cap I could care less about the in between as that shit dont matter in end game. Iv been through the grind 100 million times and im sure most of us have, its no different in any game. Actually it is different in XIV, because you are not leveling just one class, you are leveling multiple classes and with crafting classes added in there is an INSANE amount to level. Dont forget that new classes are coming, in the past you lvl'd one class to cap and made a new character (for most games). Now in order to have a completely capped character you have to level everything, as i intend to eventually do this (god bless me if i survive this grind) it will take some serious time to complete. You want your endless grind to take some time? Level everything up.

You won't ever have a capped character anyway. Maybe you could for a few months. Gear gets outdated. It's the same thing. Gear is replaced, then you have to grind for a new set, then a new set, new materia, more grind. Just because you don't like the journey, doesn't mean everyone is the same. Grinding is what MMOs are about.

Besides, you don't HAVE to level everything. That's why you play with other people. They can supplement your crafts or your jobs. If you need to be able to do everything yourself, that is a choice you have.

The stupidity in this thread is overwhelming, i never said i dont like the journey, but the journey itself is useless when it comes to end game and only that last level counts ...if this shit gets fixed so be it...if its left alone so be it...if it gets a bit more balanced so be it...im still going to hit cap and so is everyone else. Im out.

Why do you even play MMOs if that's how you feel? FFXI had terrible end game but some of the best in-between journey material of any MMO. I played it for years with only a very minor interest in end game content.

The best part of the journey being finally killing a lizard or a fly after 10 hours of waiting in order to have good gear to level up and HIT CAP. Are you saying you never hit cap? I only managed 57 on thf after a year or so and i quit for WoW because leveling in that game was rediculously stupid (although i loved the combat system). My friend is afraid of playing FFXIV because he is afraid that it will take him forever to be able to do end game. FFXI scarred him for life.

Are you saying you need to level everything so you can have all the spell? did you forget that jobs are better at partying? which does not allow hybrid? you can't use cure on a monk only on PLD.
