Did anyone ever thought about the Players who "Completed" the entire Story?
Is there a benefit for us if New Players are able to skip the entire Story or jump through levels?

If there is a Level / Story Skip Potion, then I as a ARR Player, want to be rewarded for completing the Story and gaining my levels.
Simple Truth, it causes more frustration distributed over the entire Community.

You also have to think, cutting out Content means less things to do for Players, which means, they either continue or they get bored and won't subscripe anymore.

What's next... a Potion to skip Heavensward Relic? A Potion to skip Savage? Seriously, this is so wrong...

yes, you'd have more people to play with.

there is, you've been playing the content after it the whole time since.

if the content isn't fun for them since they feel so far behind they'll get bored and won't subscribe anyway. you're going to lose people either way. people who are not interested in the Lv 60 content will never be long term subscribers anyway.

    That's the Logic isn't it?

Don't make assumptions of people you don't know, it just makes you presumptuous.

are you saying you're not higher iLv than someone who would get a jump potion tomorrow?

Now another Question. What exactly Advantage would bring you a Potion in your case, SendohJin?

no, it's not. if i can get friends from other games over to play this i would tell them to use it if that was an option.

you might say i'm lazy for not waiting for them but that doesn't tell you anything about them.

Exactly, you bring your Friends over here, they get that Potion, they skip the Story, are instantly Lv.50. What happens then?

Running FATEs to get Lv.60 immediately? Doing the Stor.... we have that here, oh sorry, nevermind.

FATES -- > Lv.60 --> You create a Group, you Run Content with your iLvl 220-230-240 whatsoever Job you use and faceroll it.

Is this to keep People in a MMORPG? Right... In no means I'm shitting on you right now, yet, with that Way, you won't likely keep People for a Week in FFXIV....

many people i play with skip cutscenes anyway. i don't do FATEs, i would do dungeons with them till they get to 60 and craft them gear so they can start learning to do Nid EX and Savage.

most of them are experienced gamers that like to get loot for the sake of getting loot. doing the story doesn't make them understand the Lore grind, you actually have to get them into the Lore grind to know if they'll stick around for it and i'd rather they do it a week after they get the game than a month after.

This is what I have an issue with. I understand they want to cater to as many people as possible but they are forgetting the core players the ones who enjoy this game because it is a main number game in the series. And when people come on here complaining that the game takes too long or there is too much story it starts to grind some gears a bit with people. Do things need to change? Absolutely! But people coming on here complaining about the core feature that is an FF game which is story and lore isn't right. As yo said people are familiar and comfortable with things but so are FF fans who expect some similarities and ideas from other FF games

I totally agree that things like stats need to be looked at because right now they are very bland and boring. Locking areas and jobs behind the story was not ideal. They should allow us to visit places but depending on where we are in the story have NPCs treat us differently.

That's a major reason why most players won't bother with the game to begin with: why bother with the expansion, if you need to play the entirety of the previous game JUST to unlock it? Other games don't do it, even SWTOR which is story driven. I do like campaigns and story modes in mmorpg, but not when they lock gameplay stuff. Keep the story, don't remove it, because I do like having an objective even if I don't care about it, but don't lock everything behind it: you won't incite new players to join if this is how things go.

And that's why I'm concerned about the potion, because we're only one expansion in and they're already going for a story skip potion: that's not a good sign, but it shows that there are people who want to play, but are discouraged by the story lock. That's what I mean by making the story optional: don't remove it, make it important, but don't lock content or basic things behind it and you'll get people who want to play. I don't think this is hard stuff to do, but considering they want to do a potion instead, it proves one of two things: 1) They're lazy 2)They want to take profit from it.
