Not trying to be the person like 'omg rage quit I hate SE' but if this is actually implemented I will probably leave the game. Buying levels is just a no-go for me.
Its honestly not that much of a deal breaker. The only issue with things like this that wow honestly does differently, is how it introduces the buyer into the game. Most games that sell levels just throw you into the game without explaining your abilities and so on. At least with wow (when I used mine on WoD at least), it had you go through a few quests using a few abilities at a time until you unlocked everything. So if I do hope they utilize some gating mechanic like that when they do start selling them. The twelve knows we could use less 'gifted' people at endgame.
The feature wouldn't apply to you. Why are you complaining about it? I don't see people who love the story complaining about all the people who rush through and skip every cut scene and rush through every dialog conversation? Plenty of people do this. How does it impact how others play?So the Gamer Escape interview with Yoshi came out and I found this little juicy answer SO INFURIATING... is this honestly needed? Why do people play games if they don't want to work for anything. We already have people who can barely play there jobs and now you want to hand them already leveled/story completed characters? ill just never understand.

My reaction was more for the level boosting and not the story jumps which is still just as bad. Im sorry I don't like to tolerate lazy, entitled, I want everything handed to me with 1 click type people. You are playing a game that was made with passion from a company that wants people to experience what they have created, why allow people to bypass this? Just because other games do this doesn't mean it should be the norm. This game already caters to the new players and less skilled players so how would this help at all? You an say I'm complaining I don't really care but if you agree with this type of thing then I guess more power to you!The feature wouldn't apply to you. Why are you complaining about it? I cant agree more.
it affects all of us who levelled our jobs from 1-60. I am full on for the new story to start at a low level and scalable like vanu beast tribes, even with a level sync or something if story dungeons will even exist, but to put a person at max level without even playing? It doesnt effect veterans? Its a slap in the face to all of us especially 1.0 and 2.0 launch vets heck even 3.0 vets at this level, it isnt hard to level in this game, you play your class/job and learn how the skills work. Story? sure id be cool with them being able to jump in and play with us, just not be able to raid day 1, or go tome farming. This affects the entire community at large, when you do something like this

I didn't read a lot these 5x odd pages and all but did anyone else laugh at this part? When he went and discussed with players from WoW?
How about you ask people from FFXI? Why is he even discussing with WoW? A lot of people already find this game an Anime copy of it anyways.
Come on dude, don't follow their idea's every step of the way now. This is what happens when you give them an inch, they take the High Mile to Mog Station.
I'm sure that this will come out eventually though. A lot of us protested against a Cash Shop and looked what happened?
Brace yourselves, the instant leveling is coming, Kupo! -_-
Oh and, inb4 all low dungeons and content are pretty much dead. They try all they could to keep old content
still worth running, they are shooting themselves in the foot but it'll heal back up fast with cash!

Honestly, they need to let some content die. Those dungeons will be four years old and are among the most boring chore to slog through. When new players complain about how slow the GCD feels or how boring the game is, that is in large part due to having only experienced the beginning of the game. I would rather they focus on 50+ content from the expansion onward.I didn't read a lot these 5x odd pages and all but did anyone else laugh at this part? Thats what you sign up for when you play a GAME. If new players can't handle the games pace(which is not even an issue its a FF game not an action game I don't understand why people can't grasp that) and if they find it boring why are they even playing?Honestly, they need to let some content die. You sign up to play a game to have fun. At those early levels, FFXIV honestly exhibits its worst characteristics. The GCD feels like an eternity to more veteran oriented MMO players in part because you do not unlock any of the abilities which will become a stable of your rotation. Some exceptions notwithstanding. How often is Lancer criticised for literally spamming Impulse Drive a billion times? Conjurer doesn't fair much better only having Stone I and Cure in content that isn't even remotely threatening. On its own, this wouldn't necessarily be a dealbrealer, but ARR has a myriad of fetch quests designed solely to waste your time. The Company of Heroes 'story' leading up to Titan is twenty six quests long with maybe three relevant to your actual objective. Leveling an alt, I skipped virtually every piece of dialogue and it still ran over two hours of nothing. These are not attributes you want to advertise about your game, especially when it improves substantially thereafter. New players picking up the expansion are itching to try the new content, not be bogged down by hundreds of quests before they'll be able to play with their friends. Even Yoshi himself has acknowledged the many flaws with classes, hence why we will never see another one.
There comes a point where an MMOs has too much content well pasted its life cycle. You cannot expect new players to continuously slog through four year old content. To paraphrase a criticism on the MMO genre in general from Lazy Peon when people bring up how good the endgame is despite boring leveling: "Why don't you make the leveling less shit so I don't quit your game before I get to the good part?"
