I find it awkward to use when starting a fight, and even more difficult to know what form I am in/need in the middle of the fight if there is a lull period.
Can I thus simply start with DK rather than Demo? It's a lot easier and the time difference between Demo at start or end of the combo isn't that much.
I use it a lot, but you can skip it in the beggining and use PB as soon as you engage and skip out on the extra snap at the end of PB. As for in fight, it isn't too big of a DPS loss when you start in DK and in some fights it's even benefitial. But the primary use of form shift is to keep your GL stacks so always make sure you form shift into a form where you know you'll keep your stacks, also if you aren't using form shift during down time you should use meditation.

Thanks Krindor! Good to know. Can you give a practical example of this in a boss fight?

Also do you bother to use FS against trash?

In VA, last boss. When she jumps the time she is in the air is quite long so if you are already are on couerl chances are that GL will drop, but if you finished in opo-opo or raptor, you can form shift to couerl and refresh GL just before it runs out. Another example is A7S were if your group is quick enough in killing the adds you will be short on time to refresh GL and unless you're in couerl at the point when you can attack again you'll lose your stacks. There's a lot of scenarios but most of it is memorizing the downtime and adjust as such depending on the time on GL.

As for thrash, FS to couerl before pull to get GL1.
